And whatever you think of his political views, the point stands, people get criticized for violent protest, people get criticized for non-violent but disruptive protest. If a guy wants to kneel for two minutes during a song, no one gets hurt, and his right to ignore a song is ultimately part of what America is about.

And as liberals are quick to tell us, people can do whatever they want, it just doesn't insulate them from non-governmental consequences. So if Kaep wants to reduce the amount of money he will make and make himself untouchable for NFL teams, that's his right.

Their opinions are no more worthy than the gas station attendant, the local doctor, the garbage man, the electrician, etc.

They just aren't afforded the soap box of celebrity status.

And?

What are you basing that on? You don't have that soap box yet you still give your opinions.

What you people don't understand is that every time you bitch and moan about someone burning the flag, or sitting during the Anthem, you are being PC police.

Those actions are considered politically incorrect by the right as much as anything the left considers politically incorrect.

Remember that the next time you start melting over some athlete not standing for the Pledge, or the Anthem.

Yes. It's not about what they can do, obviously they can say whatever they want.

But should a really stupid musician go up and rant about the President to people who paid to hear him play music? I would argue he generally should not, even though he certainly can.

And of course I'm not talking about someone explaining that a song was written because of blah blah blah. Politics is inherent in art. Athletes get asked questions. But some people choose to go far beyond that.

Why would you?

Plus, I use this site for discussions. The proclamations made by celebrities usually don't have that aspect.

I find this site far more important to the political landscape than any celebrity's opinion.

The fact that a celebrity's opinions are frequently spread over the news.

Mine aren't, at least I don't think they have been.

No, this is wrong. You consume media voluntarily. Anytime you hear the opinion of someone transmitted through media, it is because you have made the conscious choice to hear it.

Take personal responsibility for the media you choose to consume and stop blaming others for your own ennui.

That's the point. Its basically an abuse of power when they know they have millions of people watching, many of whom will follow the opinion blindly because they like how good a player is. Im betting a good amount of people voted for Hillary solely off the fact that Lebron endorsed her

Ok #1 just because someone doesn't agree with your opinion that doesn't make them stupid, and #2 I think this idea that just because someone becomes famous they suddenly have a responsibility to not express their political options whenever THEY deem it be appropriate is completely asinine and yes it is a form of political correctness that you're pushing.
