Republicans Preparing for Changing the Constitution

AP
"Among the most frequently cited changes being sought: amendments enforcing a balanced federal budget, establishing term limits for members of Congress, and repealing the 17th Amendment, which put the power of electing the Senate in the hands of the public instead of state legislatures.
For the past 229 years, constitutional amendments have originated in Congress, where they need the support of two-thirds of both houses, and then the approval of at least three-quarters of the states.
But under a never-used second prong of Article V, amendments can originate in the states. Two-thirds of states — currently, 34 — must call for a convention at which three-fourths of states approve of a change."
Party of protecting the Constitution has already been aiming at changing two amendments. When are you guys going to realize that you get lied to very often? When are you going to actually stand for what you say to stand for?

Trump has completely destroyed you liberals. Now, you all want to defend the constitution and are fiscal hawks. It's amazing.

Goes back to the original intent.

Changing the Constitution through the means set up by the Constitution, is not the same as a Nutty Ninth decision

You're against these things? Why? Why are you against them?

Repealing amendments that bastardized the original constitution is protecting it.

Going through the proper channels for amending the constitution is protecting the constitution.
Your ignorance on full display yet again.

I don't remember us ever attacking the Constitution. But that's an interesting viewpoint you have. Instead of acknowledging that the bullshite that you guys have been spouting about protecting the Constitution from everyone else is just a cover.
Instead of acknowledging that you've been lied to you and that principles only matter to you when you're not in a position to do anything about them, you're going to point the finger at muh libs. Come on.

What? They are actually going about attempting to amend the Constitution in a way that is actually Constitutional. Wow you are stupid

You mean like legally following the procedures in the Constitution for formally amending it? Realizing the repercussions of a prior amendment (17) and seeking to legally change it back to what the founding fathers intended? And using a convention of states to initiate change AS ALLOWED IN THE CONSTITUTION?

I hope they make all of those changes. That would be great.
But they won't make any of them.

Amending the Constitution is protecting the Constitution you big dummy. It's using damn Constitution to change things.
And another example of why the Corporate Press is the Enemy of the People. The AP frames Article V as some sort of nefarious thing because it has "never been used." That means nothing. It's part of the Constitution. If people think it is bad, then we can AMEND that part.

Oh yeah because its about the original draft of the Constitution. Pfft. Give me a break. They're changing the Constitution as it stands now which is what they said they would protect. Don't try and act now like they meant the original Constitution and fixing it the way it was

So changing the Constitution through the correct constitutional mechanism is, in your mind, not protecting the Constitution?
And, under your absurd thinking, wouldn’t repealing the 17th be protecting the original Constitution?
