The old boy senate network wants Cornyn…….but Cornyn only talks tough around election time…… otherwise he is squishy and not really MAGA…..
Paxton is a full on conservative…..

That’s why Cornyn is electable because he is so forgettable. I bet the majority of the state could only name Ted Cruz as their senator

I get the concern, but bottom line is that Ted Cruz has always had popularity issues as well. Everyone said he was in trouble in 2018, but he still beat the media God Beto, and then crushed Collin Allred in 2024. Both Beto and Allred had far more unified Dem support than what is happening now.
If it's Crockett, she has no chance and it will be a bloodbath. If it's Talarico, I have a feeling ol' Jasmine isn't going to take the loss well and will not unify the party like it was both times against Cruz. Paxton (most likely), while having baggage, still wins relatively easily.

It's not likely flipping this year, but the state is becoming more and more blue and nobody seems to care. Republican voters don't bother to vote unless there is a presidential race. Meanwhile local elected officials are allowing Islamists to build entire communities. Democrats bus in their voters, feed them, deliver mail in ballots to their house, etc. Pray that Jasmine wins the DEM nomination.

I voted for Paxton earlier this week. Cornyn is not well liked here as of late.

This ^^^^ The reason that Republicans in DC are upset and Thune is that Cornyn was an old establishment GOPer. He would do whatever Thune wanted. Paxton is more of a loose cannon and more of a America First type of guy. Bushes and others have tried to end Paxton's political career in TX for years. If I were still living in TX I would vote for Paxton over Cornyn in a heartbeat. Now I get to vote against Cassidy..

The idea is moderates will find Cornyn acceptable but not Paxton. If the moderates/independents break against Paxton, and he is definitely more polarizing than Cornyn, then Paxton has an issue.

Crockett's seat is getting gerrymandered.but She will make millions on the podcast, CNN, MSNBC route as long as she plays nice when she loses this primary and doesnt rock the boat.

Paxton has a pretty narrow lead. The only people that care about cornyn are republicans that think he isn’t MAGA enough. He is just another republican to everyone else
Moderates will hold their nose and vote for him.
Paxton has corruption issues which is red meat for Talarico and cheated on his wife which is an issue for the Baptist
Cornyn is currently running ads that are a gift to Talarico
It won’t matter if Jasmine wins because she’ll get rolled
