But it's wrong. God created the Universe and by studying his Universe we find out that the Earth is 4.5 billion years old. You are not less of a Christian for believing the truths revealed in God's creation.

But you are. Because the Genesis is meant to be taken as history. So if you dismiss Genesis (which in no way, shape, or form, hints at the possibility of earth being millions of years old), then you're dismissing the whole Bible

There is a very small group of bible literalists out there. So what? Shall we apply the anti-science position of some liberals to all liberals and mock them?

Or perhaps use you as an example of why liberals can never have sound discussions on real issues because they always seek out a small sample and try applying it too broadly?

This is probably one of my new favorites.
Meh. Paul said it actually was foolishness to the unregenerate man;

For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. For it is written: “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, And bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.” Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? For since, in the wisdom of God, the world through wisdom did not know God, it pleased God through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe. For Jews request a sign, and Greeks seek after wisdom; but we preach Christ crucified, to the Jews a stumbling block and to the Greeks foolishness, but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
I Corinthians 1:18-25 NKJV

So you do somewhat have a point.

I don't.

Your misunderstanding is on you. You're free to ask for clarity, but on a college sports forum, I'm not writing out a novel just to be sure everyone is up to speed.

What do you mean? The Bible includes all sorts of writing forms, such as poetry. Not everything is to be taken literally but that is determined by the text and its context. Genesis is written as a historical narrative so I believe it should be taken literally.

With that said, the number of adherents to a particular ideology does not determine the truth of that ideology.

Ah so you are trolling as I suspected.

This is now the third response you have made to me that does not include an explanation. You clearly have the desire to respond but no desire to make your responses understandable, which is very odd given the format of this exchange.

If you can't provide a concise explanation without writing a novel (which you might wind up doing by default by continuing to go back and forth with me) then that alone should be evidence of your lack of clarity in your message.

Nope, but I've already told you multiple times that I won't give your mythology any serious consideration. It always gets back to what you believe, and I will never care about that.

Believe anything you like, but I won't give your beliefs any validity in a discussion by addressing them.

Anything I write will be shorter than your responses. That has been consistently true.

You have already proven my point. Four responses with no explanation. While I don't really care for one, I wanted to see if you would act as expected and dodge the issue. You have, and now my curiosity has been satisfied

Carry on.

You didn't ask for an explanation. You simply complained that I didn't provide one. I addressed that appropriately.

Jesus was the son of God, he was crucified for our sins, he rose three days later and eventually went to heaven to prepare for all those who simply believe and turn from their sin. His mercy is boundless and his love is comforting and compelling.

This is the most important belief in the Christian religion and in the end it's all that matters.

Most educated christians don't believe that Adam and Eve actually existed. Or that Noah's Ark happened like in the Bible.

I'm not picking sides but where is the evidence to back this statement? I also wouldn't use the Catholic Church beliefs to define all christians.

Geology is liberal. Astrophysics is liberal. Physics is liberal. Chemistry is liberal. Earth science is liberal.

I guess truth is liberal too.
