At first I was like “people are crazy, she clearly said - I think your a lying bitch.” Then I held my iPad right next to my ear and said both sentences while listening. Sure as shite, I heard both too.
I think we would need to hear the full exchange to really get a better perspective.

On one I absolutely heard "engage"

Again, the reporter was being an arse, as normal. So I am enjoying the fact that karma, vis-a-vis an altered clip, is putting a spotlight on it.
But the reporter did claim to have said "you don't want to engage." Now, unless she is some sort of sound production savant, she wouldn't intuitively know that slowing down "you're a lying bitch" changes the sound to "you don't want to engage".
Given that, we do kind of have to trust the bitch didn't actually call the WH spokesperson a bitch.

No. It doesn't. Slow it down. She clearly says fricking lying bitch.
The "don't" is clear as day, I don't know that anyone could disagree, and she did not say "don't" or that she started with "Ok, you're a" because that definitely did not happen.

I hate the media - especially those in the WH press pool - with the white hot heat of 1000 suns. But I think I actually believe the "don't wanna engage" claim here.
