I mostly agree. The failure is in not clearing the gate area of US personnel and announcing the imminent attack to the crowd.

Fair enough, but I assume the situation was extremely fluid and dynamic and the "no go" was based on operational (*and situational) modalities that we won't ever know.

Fair enough. Yes, I'm quite sure it was a fluid situation. Also, you are right, we will NEVER know the details. Unless the "whistleblower" gets the specifics and tells them. But at this point, has the whistleblower been vetted to be in the know? I'm skeptical at this point.

You understand what a "go" would have done, right? The guy is in a crowded space, filled with people. "Taking the shot" from a Reaper drone means the firing off a Hellfire II 114 missile with enough explosive power to take out a crowd of a hundred or more people in a crowded area, and maim many more.

LOL

You're assuming they mean they didn't have the shot until he was on scene. But, it says they knew about him in advance. AND< the report actually GIVES a reason they said no. (Hint, it wasn't the crowd)

I hear you brother. The leadership in nearly every sector/industry of this country is an absolute fricking joke.

The Military leadership or lack thereof was something I thought was going to happen under this administration, but that I was hoping to be wrong about. Every Vet and Active duty service member I'm friends or family with is beside themselves over it. It's a disgrace

But we should all trust what a political appointee from 16 years ago tells us because he would have such solid intel.
Read the guy's bio - he's as deep state as they come. Yet the board all of a sudden trusts him.

I read an article today saying leaks are starting to come out about this administration. And in the long run these leaks will be damaging. As soon as the administration tries to move away from their missteps, leaks are going come out. Apparently there have been a number already.

They have non-explosive munitions also to limit collateral damage.

Would have been a perfect use for those.

if we weren't so worry about gender and trannies in our military top brass perhaps they wouldn't have let 13 kids die for no reason

Well the sword from the sky that cut the terrorist's car in half a while back came from somewhere.

You are certain they didn't have a chance to use something like that since you are so close to active operations in theatre I suppose?
