Sounds to me like he has a sweet lobby position lined up.

He can go back to being a doctor.

Rispone will run for his seat.

Then Edwards will win that seat, too

Graves?

Contrary to what some people believe on here, Graves has no desire to run for Governor.

Don’t get me wrong, I think he will. But he barely wanted to run for his last term and I’m assuming this term, and only did so because he had so much behind him saying he needed to.

If Mike Johnson wanted the seat, he would be the favorite.

He is the current Congressman from the LA-4th district.

So that would be odd if he decided to run for the 5th.

No, this is Mike Johnson of Pineville. But I can see how that might confuse a whole lot of folks.

Shoot, I have actually met him a couple of times. Should have thought of that.

Seemed like a competent enough guy.

Rispone said in an interview 2 weeks ago that he'll never run for public office again.

Rispone was the best hope for La to pull out of economic failure following the 4 Year JBE experiment. Like his campaign or not, Rispone is a proven smart businessman & holds people accountable to succeed.

Can’t blame him for moving on. This state’s local politicians are an embarrassment thanks to La voters.

Last year would’ve been a good year to run for Governor, eh Ralph?

I would have made a better candidate and run a MUCH better campaign than Rispone.

I applaud him for trying, but it’s a sad state of affairs that he’s the best we had to offer.

the guy couldn't beat Rispone. lol then to top it off, his butthurt followers wouldn't vote for rispone to save the state from jbe re-election.

I hope he has a great retirement and thanks for your service. but it is what it is.

FYI - There is NO residency requirement for the US House of Representatives.
An individual can be from anywhere in the USA and run for any seat.

Fact.

No, you have to be from the state that elects you, Though you are correct about the greater point.

Practically though, you have be in the district especially the first time you run.
