You sure about that? Because someone seems mighty unhappy spending increases aren’t getting passed.

This is all about the never Trump Republicans trying to regain their lost power. It’s so transparent.

Not sure why that's funny.

For clarity, I don't think it will. result in something better. It never does.

Instead, I think Chip is holding out to get something he wants. That's how they all operate.

We will have the same bill but Chip will fall in line when Mike Johnson gives him something in exchange.

Exactly. True conservatives vote to outspend Kevin McCarthy and pass unlimited debt ceilings.

I don’t understand the angle for these Republicans who are opposing Trump when their districts overwhelmingly support The Donald.

As pointed out, raising the debt ceiling doesn't mean we have to spend more

Trump wants it done because he knows pushing out revisiting it until after the midterms will help him.

They’ve been shut out of Trump’s inner circle so now they are using what little power they have to try to assert dominance.

Yep. Attack me instead of making an argument of merit for the CR. Probably your best move, tho.

If MAGA wasn’t aligning with Democrats I would have anything to “go after”. But here we are.

We all agree with you that spending is out of control and that reform is needed. The question is how to go about that process. Trump wants to use DOGE to attack the spending, instead of fighting a stupid battle over the debt ceiling and risking a default.

To be fair, if the new CR didn't raise the debt ceiling, you would give anyone but Trump credit. You have a history everyone here is going off of. You don't even try to be impartial from time to time. At least SFP gives credit where credit is due even though he is not a Trump supporter.

If you’re not maga you’re no different than a dem buddy. You and the dems are the small extremes of the bell curve when the majority of Americans are tired of tds. Can’t do anything or nothing without you guys complaining.

Hed have more leverage for cuts if there was a ceiling in place. That’s why it exists in the first place. Why give up that lever?
