Remember the SNL skit in the Reagan yrs? Ron was defined by media as an old dumb fool

Very funny - during the official Oval Office part, Reagan was shown as dottering old man having to be led around and prompted what to say.
Then when the 'newspeople' or 'visitors' left the scene, Reagan immediately turned into a dominating "commander" like a General leading a charge on a fortress - giving orders left and right - chewing out slaggards - developing plans for potential problems ahead - directing follow up support - working with foreign ministers, telephoning Nancy to feed the cat - etc.
It was almost a perfect depiction of what the KJP and the legacy media are describing Biden doing on a daily basis.
Weird how predictive that was.

I had forgot about that particular skit, it was somewhat humorous, unlike most of the shite on SNL today.

They also used to have Dana Carvey as Bush senior jumping out from behind corners to scare the aging President. Always thought that was pretty funny.

Yea - most mornings the first thing that happened when you got to work was someone asking - "did you see that ________ on SNL last night???"
It was pretty entertaining - now I cannot remember the last time I even thought of SNL
In fact - it was the resemblance of that skit during a recent news cast that reminded me of it. Started laughing out loud at the current idiocy.

I never found SNL to be very funny, and I go back to the original cast years. To me, its funny moments are measured in seconds but the show takes hours, its just never been worth it, and if it hadn't debuted in the 1970's when most people only had three channels of TV to watch, it would have never gotten off the ground.
It does, occasionally, hit a home run about once in 1000 at bats.

Same with the Phil Collins music video.

For my money its the best political skit SNL has ever done.

Same with W. SNL uses the same script for every Republican.
Meanwhile, Biden gives the best material ever and they still do Trump skits.

Toonce the driving cat was pretty funny.....I think, but then again, I was stoned quite a bit back then.

Good stuff— that never gets old! Dennis Miller was still doing the occasional sketch when that aired.

The ironic thing is that Jimmy Stewart ......Gen. James Stewart , USAF would have been at home in a Nat Sec meeting. When he died, he still possessed a TS+ designation. He was more of a patriot and a conservative than Reagan.....that's saying something.
