So…it’s not a threat- he expanded the call to the special session starting today - they will propose to strip the Reedy Creek Special District from Disney

They aren't moving Disney world.

And their current CEO is a fricking lunatic that doesn't know where their bread is buttered.

Significantly raise the taxes on the parks too

A groomer tax that goes into hunting groomers

Any time the groomers whine… just repeat “the billion dollar companies need to pay their fair share!!”

Surely.. SUREELY.. they will not complain about closing a tax loophole on a company that makes billions and pays it’s workers poorly.

Surely not.

Eliminating Reedy Creek will have the impact of raising taxes bc they will have to pay property taxes to Orange/Lake/Osceola counties

In a sane world, no. But in a sane world, Disney would have never embraced gay days and kiddie diddling.

We’ve seen that Twitter would rather burn down than cave to Musk. Maybe Disney would rather close their park than admit they’re wrong.

Disney and Twitter have been interesting lessons in what happens when Board/Corporate leadership ignore their duties to their shareholders in the name of "the message."

No, they’ll raise rates to compensate for the loss of profit.

Assuming of course the legislation gets passed, which I wouldn’t count on given the money Disney can throw at lobbyists.

It will take a decade of decline for them to reverse course if it does pass. At worst they’ll divert future expansion plans elsewhere till they figure out that doesn’t work either.

i'll allow it. purple haired non-binary genderless zers can subsidize the parks all day long.

i'll stick to fishing and building sandcastles at the beach.

I think Disney is going to be in a world of hurt soon. People hate their new ride reservation system more than they hated FP+. They are alienating the demographic that brings 95% of their revenue to the parks. The economy is going to limit what people have to spend on vacations as early as the end of this summer and much more further into the future. Add Big Dick Ron to the mix and they will either oust the current CEO or start to bow down.
