All of the rest of the industrialized world has better corp. tax rates than the US.

Can you please bring something besides emotional pleas into the argument? Changing policy or even forming opinions on policy based on "let the poor die, right?" or "other countries do it" is not a very strong starting point....for a rational thinker. It does wonders to influence the non-rational emotional thinkers, though. Wonder which one you are???

Has obamacare helped or hurt that number?

Do you support obamacare?

2 yes or no answers if you don't mind.

And they typically have higher income tax rates, higher VATs, higher vice taxes, higher fuel taxes - in fact - just about higher every other tax you can think of. ARE YOU WILLING TO MAKE THAT TRADE? Because I'm down. You wanna gid rid of the corporate tax and up the tax rate on the wealthy 10% - quadruple the gas tax and smoke taxes, throw in some VATs - OK - now we're talkin.

You are in over your head on a tax discussion with me. The point I was making...which you obviously ignored...is it appears almost every response you make on this board is from an emotional, but not rational, place. Sarcasm and/or irrelevant facts meant to illicit an emotional response. Not the best way to make a compelling rational argument.

That ranking is in large part based upon the amount of socialized medicine a country has.

The second major flaw of it is turning life expectancies into a healthcare data point with no other supporting data. IOW, a person dying in a car crash is counted as a mark against the healthcare system.

It would appear like that to a bonehead, yes. I understand.

OH! So now I'm responsible for your emotions. I get it.

Well hey let's just make up our own ranking and say U.S. #1. That's a lot more scientific.

Because results don't actually matter when your horse isn't the one in the lead (you're just gambling for fun when that happens!)

That's probably the driving factor in life expectancies - car crashes. You're figured it out. How long people live certainly is not in any way shape or form related to the quality of health care they receive.

Actually, if you take out homicides and car crashes, the US has the best life expectancy.

LINK

So yeah. Car crashes and homicides are driving our life expectancy numbers. It sucks when you know as little as you do and think you know so much more.

Plus, if the US used the same metric for infant mortality that other "industrialized" nations did, THAT number would be much, much better as well.
