Gov. John Bel Edwards' trip to Puerto Rico last month to highlight the island's hurricane recovery efforts and meet with leaders there cost taxpayers about $5,000, state records show.

Let me help you out.

For the record, that is remarkably cheap considering everything involved.

Wow. I was expecting more than $5k when it includes some staff members and a security detail.

That is incredibly cheap. He should probably put it into a campaign commercial.

He paid for a lot of it out of his campaign fund... likely after a stink was being made.

Considering that his response to the floods and hurricanes wasn't exactly anywhere close to a world class response that wins awards and gold medals, he really shouldn't be consulting them about fixing things over there after natural disasters.

He's no Bobby Jindal as far as disaster management goes.

I don’t like JBE, but this isn’t a problem.

Agreed. There’s plenty to get on JBE about, but this really isn’t a very big issue. Pick your battles.

Really not much, considering. That said, did he need to go at all?

But in the end, not in my top 100 concerns.

So approximately .0000074 percent of the cost for our POTUS to go play golf? Cool find.

$5K is cheap. What's the problem? BJ's trip would have been 10x that amount.
