You have to get them to verbally commit to harming you, then unlock the door and state loudly that they are not allowed in and you are scared.
If your state has stand your ground and domicile protection laws and you do the above, you should be clear to shoot anyone who opens the door.

They are vandalizing your vehicles, trespassing and attempting to break down your door.If I am on the jury they'll never convict you. I suspect if you slipped out the back door came around the house and fired a couple of blasts in their general direction they would soil their trousers getting out of there.
If they were stupid they would come at you and THEN you could cut them down.

Depends on the state. Her in Alabama, we have the Castle Doctrine.
Under the Tucker Carlson situation, someone was beating his door to the point, it cracked. According to the Castle Doctrine, I can drop that SOB where he stands, as I have a legitimate fear for my life.

You would be charged with something in Missouri. You can only shoot if a "reasonable person" would consider you to be under imminent threat of death or gross bodily harm.

Yeah Alabama and Louisiana are about the same on this issue. I would not hesitate to shoot someone in that situation and I would be justified under the law. As it should be.

My property has a 25’ ROW if you step 1’ past that and I feel threatened you will never see daylight, it’s up to you what you do next!!!

Shot through the door? Yea you are probably fricked there.

CAN I? Yes. May I? Debatable. Will I? If I think I or anyone in my house is threatened I'll shoot first, argue later. Of course, you can shoot a warning shot from an upper window. The pussy hat wearers will scatter like dust.

Just call the cops or go outside and beat their arse. Make them walk around in shame for acting stupid.

If people were banging on my door hard enough to crack it and my family is inside, I’ll take a chance with my peers on a jury

If the door is being split from the frame and his wife was home alone? She'd probably get off here TBH.
I'd go unlock the door and sit in the foyer with a shotgun.

You are probably dumber than you look.
A guy here thought the same way. Went out to confront the scumbags who were trying to get in his house.....they shot him in his yard.
If someone is trying to get in your house, you treat that like they want to kill you, your dogs, your wife, and your kids. Always assume they have weapons and intend to use them. Stupid people think otherwise.

I don’t get how they could even legally stand in his front yard and “protest”. That’s trespassing right? They should be arrested.
Even if they are in the street that is inciting a riot.

I think in Texas the second they cracked the door you are ok, but I am clearly no lawyer:
quote:
1) knew or had reason to believe that the person against whom the force was used: (A) unlawfully and with force entered, or was attempting to enter unlawfully and with force, the actor's occupied habitation, vehicle, or place of business or employment;

quote:
If you are lawfully inside the dwelling, place of business, or motor vehicle and held a reasonable belief that the use of force was necessary to prevent the entry or to compel an unlawful intruder to leave or the intruder was in the process of forcibly entering or had unlawfully and forcibly entered and you knew or had reason to believe that it was occurring or had occurred you would be justified.
I'm sure DC has different laws but this seems to fit the bill here.

If that goes on at my house, they get shot. If that’s a crime then the law is wrong. I’ll go to jail, but I will not let anyone do that to me an$ my family.
