It's pretty obvious that most folks on this board have never been in law enforcement, nor would be willing to.
Folks need to think about standing on the outside of a door and having to announce their presence to a murder suspect, and then having to go through that door....shite gets real quick!

There's 2 really simple options:

1) Don't become a police officer.

2) Wait until said murder suspect leaves his house, is picking his arse while he opens the door to his car, or engages in any other one of a million scenarios I can think of where you could get the drop on him and apprehend with very little chance of an incident.

The third option of "bust down people's doors guns blazing and cap a few innocent bystanders when we may or may not even get the perp we're looking for" isn't going to cut it.

To execute a "no knock" there should be evidence presented to a judge and a stakeout for at least 24hrs to ID correctly those living there and coming and going

People still die when they enter the right house.

There was a case in Tacoma where a drug dealer was no knocked and he killed an officer.

He ended up in prison but using a different tactic keeps that officer alive and the guy would still be in prison for dealing.

Eta....I'm sure there are lots of cases like that.

No knocks are dumb and unsafe.

Or, maybe police should think before kicking in that door without announcing their presence to a murder suspect WHEN THE ALLEGED MURDER SUSPECT IS ALREADY IN frickING POLICE CUSTODY ACROSS TOWN

They didn't even get the right fricking address and they bust the door down in the middle of the night with guns blazing. They gunned down innocent citizens in cold blood.

The police should be in jail for murder and that situation should be made impossible to occur in the future.

If officer Shaky Trigger McJackboot is a widdle bit scared to serve a traditional warrant, then maybe his arse can go flip burgers for a living instead of murdering innocent citizens via unannounced trespassing, breaking and entering.

They kick in the wrong door, unannounced.

Was it the wrong door of did they lie on the warrant to kick in her door?

And yes, no knocks should be a thing of the past.
