I completely recognize the enormous benefit that NATO has provided to the US and the world since WWII and fully support it's existence.
I also recognize that other members of NATO are taking advantage of that situation to our detriment.

NATO was a big part of the fall of the iron curtain. but since then, most NATO members have lowered their defense spending, letting us take up the slack. The is nothing wrong with Trump reminding our Allies of their agreed upon obligations

It's because of the US presence in Europe. Remove the US from NATO and NATO falls apart. Europe should not be so heavily dependent on a non European country for their security, but if they are they shouldn't be fricking that country on trade.

Why is it all or nothing with you simpletons? Trump is not advocating exit from NATO or wishing ill of his allies; he's asking them to pay their share of the burden. This is a total strawman.
It's like the trade war nonsense. He offers free trade to our European neighbors, they demur, and he responds in kind to what they levy upon us. They started it, but because he adopts similar or reciprocal trade policies, he's starting a trade war. Nonsense!
And then there's the immigration policy bushwa. He suggests we enforce our borders and he's labeled a racist and a baby killer. Micheal Ramirez got this one right:

So you are okay with other nations not holding up to the agreement, while paying Billions to the “enemy”/being energy dependent on them and charging us ten times what we charge them in tariffs....with friends like that who needs enemies.
