This is the analysis he refers to LINK

Between this and Corker insisting that the plan not add one dollar to the deficit Mitch has his work cut out for him

The tax policy center is a leftwing think tank, is it not?

Also, where are they getting the numbers that 30% of the middle class is getting an increase in taxes?

Rand shouldn't trust the Tax Policy Center. Bunch of lefties posing as centrists. If that same info comes out of Heritage or Cato then he can believe it.

Without seeing the details if you go from 7 tax brackets to 3, then some will see taxes go up and others will see them go down. There is a net gain to 70% of the middle class.

Not defending the plan but 30% seeing a tax increase is completely plausible given the reduction in the overall number of tax brackets.

Reading through the analysis and I think this is where Rand is getting pissy.

quote:

In 2018, about 12 percent of taxpayers would face a tax increase of roughly $1,800 on average. More than a third of taxpayers making between about $150,000 and $300,000 would pay more, mainly because most itemized deductions would be repealed

quote:

By 2027, taxes would rise for roughly one-quarter of taxpayers, including nearly 30 percent of those with incomes between about $50,000 and $150,000 and 60 percent of those making between about $150,000 and $300,000. The number of taxpayers with a tax increase rises over time

Though, the analysis did mention something about not including dynamic feedbacks--not sure what that is in relation to the analysis--to revenue.

My taxes would go up SEVEN percent from what I've seen. That's like $12,000 fricking dollars - enough to make me not #MAGA if it happens. I'm trying not to overreact yet

You were kind of a bitch before the election, but ever since the election its like you go out of your way to try and impress Trumpkins.

Newsflash, they do not accept cucks.

Here's a harsh reality, if you make so much money that your taxes would go up $12K under this plan (and clearly there are folks like this) then tough shite, you can afford to pay more.

I've not wanted to look because I suspect it'll be different in the end. As I said in another thread, it's going to piss off many professionals.

An actual Obamacare repeal and legitimate tax relief.

The nerve of that a-hole just amazes me.
