What year was this? Being a minority white, It makes sense that you have such a weird take on things.

You never did clarify if you support discriminatory DEI or not. You clearly do though.

go ask Sally to explain it to you... i'm tired of explaining it... again, go count the amount of times i used "equity" and compare it to the amount of times i said "equality"... you seem to have it all figured out based on those two specific words...

yes, wanting non-whites, or women, or LGBTQ, or whatever to have the same chances at a good life is so very fricking weird...

You got lumped with cubbies... that's the problem.

Anywho, I think I do get where you're coming from, I just don't foresee that eliminating protections would in any way lead to discrimination.

What might initially happen, were DEI eliminated, would likely be what the Obama Administration termed "disparate impact"- I think, in short order, things would level out fairly though. The upside being everyone being more confident in their care providers AND care providers being more confident in themselves as well.

I discussed it with her. We agree on the flaw of your argument.

DEI is relatively new in some places.

yes, wanting non-whites, or women, or LGBTQ, or whatever to have the same chances at a good life is so very fricking weird.

Discrimination = not the same chances.

No discrimination = same chances.

Again, you are very confused about DEI.

and i can appreciate your POV, even though i'm not quite as trusting and optimistic about that as you....

and while i don't think it would ever get to pre-Civll Rights levels of discrimination, i do think it would ultimately creep back in, slowly but surely, and it would be common practice, but in a less egregious way...

but at any rate, it's bed time, but have a great weekend, and thanks for being nice and actually taking time to discuss and try to understand my perspective... it means a lot

discussing. .. i really dislike when it devolves into just childish insults, and shite.... i really try to keep it on topic and be respectful of others here, but we all have our point of no return, i guess.... anway, good night

To admit you support discrimination to help people with less merit get jobs over people with more merit.

To be fair, do you care if random strangers doubt your competence based on their own insecurities?

Do you ask each of your providers for their medical school application packets so you can determine if they deserved their admittance based on your own criteria? What about your accountant? At what point do you let people do their jobs and judge them based on their ability to do said job?

DEI creates a low trust society.
