Wat?
Who do you think makes up the Federal Governmenr?
It depends what the federal government does and those elected officials' part in it. Your statement is way too broad

Do you think using the phrase "pray tell" makes you sound more knowledgable or smarter?
It doesn't.

Really? That was called "The Civil War", and it was fought 150 years ago. I can quote Lincoln until the ol' cows come home, but I'm a guessin' he's not on your top list of 'mericans, right?
Have you ever heard of a coup d'état? There are several terms meaning the same thing. That's what the founding fathers meant, only to be used for returning the power to the hands of the people.

start quoting please.
ok, i will
quote:
“I will say then that I am not, nor ever have been in favor of bringing about in anyway the social and political equality of the white and black races – that I am not nor ever have been in favor of making voters or jurors of negroes, nor of qualifying them to hold office, nor to intermarry with white people; and I will say in addition to this that there is a physical difference between the white and black races which I believe will forever forbid the two races living together on terms of social and political equality. And inasmuch as they cannot so live, while they do remain together there must be the position of superior and inferior, and I as much as any other man am in favor of having the superior position assigned to the white race. I say upon this occasion I do not perceive that because the white man is to have the superior position the negro should be denied everything.”

Ah, so I'm an uneducated redneck because our opinions on this issue differ? Ad hominem and straw man arguments are an instant win, amirite?

Considering thats exactly what they did, why do you think they would be opposed to it?

Just a few minutes ago a clip on Fox showed the cops/army firing their AKs at the crowds. So many people think that our govt. would never act in a similar manner and the massive quantities of ammo bought by it over the last few years should be ignored as it is just a hill of beans. To those assembled dumb asses why has the purchases exceeded billions of rounds? Why has so much of it been kill shots(hollow points and now sniper rounds) and not been rounds for target practice?

Put down your pill bottle. You are overdosing on your script of dumbass on a massive scale if you remotely think that is true.

I disagree (see sig quote).
If those elected officials are acting in a tryannical fashion, completely anathema to the Constitution, that's exactly what it is for. The law only prohibits calling for overthrow of the government of the USA. I would submit that "dealing with" the persons who hold offices in the government, while maintaining its structure, is valid.

Look at the reactions of the Founders to Shay's Rebellion before the Constitution, and the Whiskey Rebellion after the Constitution was signed, to name two, that influenced how those guys felt about the necessity of citizens having guns.
Souldog, you made your point and don't even know it. Maybe you need to study both of these rebellions a little more. While both rebellions "lost", the access to weapons and ability to resist won many of the concessions they were looking for and changed the face of our government.
Shay's rebellion was before the Constitution and impacted its contents and ratification. Jefferson's comment on tree of liberty refreshed with blood of patriots is about Shays. Shays influence also prevented an even stronger centralized government in Const. as there was need to ensure that this stronger central government also "...Let us have a government by which our lives, liberties, and properties will be secured.." Oh yea, Shays was basically a set of "rebels" against a private militia.
Whiskey rebellion, after much violence, GW sent in peace commission followed later by troops. Hope was that troops would force "peace talks" to happen faster. GW even had soldiers in this force arrested who killed people, showing that full force was not their intent. Whiskey rebellion led to formation of 2 party system Federalists Party for more central government and Republicans for less. After election of Jefferson (R), whiskey tax was repealed. and after Whiskey rebellion, Federalist no longer argued against right to assemble, free speech, (see alien and sedition act-prior to WR).

bullshite. That is exactly one of the reasons it's in there. Of all the checks and balances, it is the one that is the least corruptible. Just as our soldiers take an oath to defend the constitution, and not politicians. The constitution is the law of the land. It's to be defended by any means necessary. The government is simply a congregation of people hired by US citizens to work under the rules set forth in the constitution and manage the daily business of the country. "The government" exists only because of the will of the people. Without guns the people have no way to check and balance a tyrannical government.
