It’s amazing how inept Boeing has become. They literally couldn’t find water if they jumped out a boat.

If this is a bribe what is Qatar getting in return?
I don't think it's a "bribe" in a quid pro quo sense. I don't think most China or Saudi or whatever investment is that (some probably is, I guess). I think in the aggregate - arguably - they're not doing it just for friendship or generosity, though, and I suspect this is the same.
I'll be honest, I don't know how to think of Qatar, so I tend to view it similarly as I do to decades of Saudi bankrolling US interests. It's so we will think of them more fondly than their worst elements. We won't judge the entire country by the fact that some of their wealthy interests work against America and Americans, etc.

I haven't paid attention to the plane thing, but Don, Jr. starting a club in D.C. and charging $500k is not a good look when the right just spent 5-10 years complaining that Hunter Biden sold access.
One is a legit business that draws attraction and the other was a crackhead selling finger painting for access to his father.

Damn. 20 downvotes? Sorry I ruined your Black Panther party.

The plane probably has a bomb built inside somewhere. Don't trust those dudes.

It’s kinda embarrassing some people think we can’t afford our own airplanes.

Doesn't seem to bother anyone that Qatar is a major sponsor of terrorism right behind Iran.
Why the hell would you take something like that from terrorists?

This thing will have to undergo enormous amounts of refitting to be at the air force's standards for ferrying POTUS around.
He would only be able to use this thing for a year or two, at best. I don't really understand the why. I'd rather he just tell Boeing to frick off and tell Airbus they have 36 months to deliver.

They're going to have to literally tear this thing apart before even starting to convert it for that very reason.

Donald Trump commissioned the new Air Force One during his first term in 2018. It has still not been built. So the President of the United States is flying on a thirty-nine-year-old Boeing 747 and, due to delays, President Trump might finish his second term before the new 747 makes its first test flight. Boeing now does not expect delivery until 2029.
Boeing just announced they will deliver this plane in 2027….amazing what a little pressure and dangling a carrot (or brand new gifted airplane) will do. It’s almost like Trump knows what he’s doing to get his agenda across

It’s actually funny posters don’t think they will rip this thing apart and he’s going to hop on it next week

Whatever happens something is fuky about the whole thing. JMO
If I were a President especially Trump with people trying to kill me left and right, I wouldn’t want anyone but an American team/company inserting technology into my plane and especially building the damn thing.
But since I’m not President and nobody’s currently building me a plane I’m willing to take that chance.

Yes they did.
There is just one problem.
Is Boeing actually capable of getting it done? Serious question because I don't think it can.

An American shot him and other attempts to kill him or put him behind bars were made by Americans. We understand that Qatar is a terrorist state but why not accept the gift. Even if it doesn’t fly there’s no strings for Trump. It’s also not a bad thing that Qatar is respectful to Trump vs Biden which is when all this shite started.
