If I had tried to run away and they caught me. There's a good chance I would see going for the gun as the only thing that gives me a slim chance of escaping.

He could have been fleeing with the stolen merchandise which they witnessed him steel and they still would be facing murder charges. This is the first of these "unarmed black man" cases where there is not one shred, not one iota of a reasonable good or bad faith argument that supports not sending the shooter to jail. There's nothing here to cling to. Nothing. The actions of the police and DA are despicable, and they should be jailed along with the two shooters.
