Likely the same reason that Christians who want to be with God, are. To educate ourselves ("partake of the fruit of the forbidden tree", I.e., the knowledge of Good and Evil) in order to make a valid and educated choice.
As I understand the Theology of 'Satan'/Evil, Lucifer's 'Nature' as "the shinning angel" was such that 'He'/It desires to be worshipped by his fellow angels to the same degree and manner that they worship God. Even and if such worship demands that Love between related Entities is sacrificed. Ultimate Narcissism. Valuing Self over and at the expense the Whole/Love. 'It's' ultimate 'form' would be an Idea; just like God, as "in the beginning was the Word (Idea), and the Word was with God, and the Word WAS (IS) God".
A lot of 'Satanist' don't know wtf they are really worshiping, Christians too, IMO. That is our task here, in this Realm. To know the Truth, the whole Truth, and nothing but the Truth in order to define and create our ultimate Reality. 'Heaven' or 'Hell'. Example: I'm watching Network TV in the background, with this Guy super-stoked and smiley-faced because millions of people are focusing on Him. He is in his (personal) 'Heaven'. Turn that camera off, take the focus away and put Him in a World where there is only Him and God, and He is in Hell.
There is a thin line between Absolute Narcissism bordering on Sociopathy, and Narcissism which is based and poses as Love (fake version). The most deceptive and powerful form of Satan(ism) will appear as "an angel of Light", I.e., Love.
"Ye shall know the Truth, and it shall make you free" (for those who choose real Love). Happy New Year, and Happy 'Hunting' to all. Helluva Show.

True.
Satanism is more about free reign to be a glutton and hedonist. Its self destructive. We are born with the tendency though, and most exercise it.
Christianity has become more of a religion than a spiritual path. That's incredibly sad.

To be with the Lord in Heaven, one must die with faith in Christ. Faith produces good works and a desire to obey God. Suicide goes against such a thing. Therefore having a desire to be with God will also produce the patience necessary to endure the trials of this life until we are taken home.
So no, the same can’t be said for God.

How do you fight satan? IMO you engage in senseless acts of kindness, brutal acts of love. Love is the opposite of hate. There is no room for hate in a heart consumed with Love. Love is a decision.
Specifically, I intend to look for small acts of kindness. Small stuff, opening doors for others, smiling more, and stop focusing on people's faults, especially the faults of our politicians. Instead, I intend to do what the Mother of God told us to: Pray for those who have no one to pray for them. We all belong to the family of the human race. Some of us are a little rougher around the edges.
Why do I feel drawn to do this? The world is in a horrible mess. As God looks across the surface of the earth, does He see people practicing Agape Love? Self-Sacrifing Agape Love? You may not be a particularly religious person or an atheist, but hopefully, you do understand the concept of Agape Love.
Millenia ago, an itinerate Jewish Preacher who lived in ancient Galilee said,"Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven" - (Matthew 18:3) Being childlike means trusting, detaching from self, discovery, laughter. Lots of laughter. Children are amazing. So I intend to borrow from their example and be conscious of my acts of kindness. A long trip begins with a simple step.
If the world is going to be changed for the better, let it begin with me. If we're going to head off disaster of epic proportions, maybe we should at least vow to start.
With that, I wish my TigerDroppings friends a safe and joyous final week of 2022. If I have offended you by what I said, I apologize. Now, like my dear Mother always said when I went out to party - Please be careful.

How does the Bible define suicide?
Suicide occurs 6 times in the Bible and all but one are noted for their wickedness. The other person (Saul’s armor bearer) isn’t mentioned one way or another. Several other men despaired even to the point of wishing they weren’t born or hoping to die, but none of them committed suicide.
Suicide is an unlawful taking of life. God doesn’t give us a command to do it nor an exception to murder (like self-defense, war, or capital punishment). On the other hand, we are told to be patient, to persevere, and to finish the race. We are also told that God won’t give us any temptation that He doesn’t provide a way of escape, not any trial that He won’t give us the strength to bear.
So all that is to say that if someone is wanting to be with God, they should be trusting in His promises and provision and trusting that our lives are in His hands, not our own.
So to the point: suicide is self-murder that is taking your own life.
