Question about President Trump’s federal judgeship appointments

I keep seeing that President Trump’s appointment of so many conservative federal judges protects us for decades to come from full on liberal Armageddon.
My question is, what’s the normal turnover of these judgeships for a President? If it’s all the same, the percentage of conservative to liberal judges could just as easily tip back the same way it was before his election, correct?
All this as a ploy to not help my wife wrap Christmas presents.

O’Bama left somewhere around 140 seats open.

Lazy has nothing to do with it.
Obama left 140 open because Mitch McConnell pretty much stopped judicial confirmations in the last two years of his presidency after the GOP took over the Senate. It wasn't just Merrick Garland that was blocked.
Mitch only allowed through a select few that had support from republican senators.
For example, Obama only managed to get just two appellate judges through and one of them was assigned to patent court.
For comparison's sake, 10 such appellate judges were confirmed during the last two years of the Bush 43 presidency, and Democrats controlled the Senate.

He didn't necessarily leave them open due to laziness.
I think the turtle dragging his feet was causing the delay. Turns out it was a great play by him, because when trump got elected they have been filling seats at record pace.

There has also been other reforms in how the seats are filled IIRC.
I don’t believe a judge can be blocked by their home state senator anymore due to that senator refusing to turn in the paperwork saying “confirm them”.
Lots of seats stayed vacant because one senator from a state would block certain applicants.

Everything everybody said below plus it’s a lifetime appointment and most of Trump’s appointments are younger than normal. That means a lot of them could serve 30 years if they really wanted.
We should have a stable of good young judges for awhile when Trump is re-elected, it may be cause more retirement from both older conservative judges and the oldest democratic judges that don’t want to wait 4 more years.

I think Mitch was also helped by Harry Reid eliminating the 60 vote requirement, because the moron never expected the Republicans to gain back the Senate.

The Democrats will court pack next time they have power. They have to overcome the judicial branch somehow

He's putting younger than normal judges in these positions. That, on top of how many, changes the game.

No they won't. They'll try but it ain't gonna happen. Even they know how badly that would blow up on them.
I assume you're referencing their threat to seat 13 SCOTUS judges thus upping the number well above the traditional 9?
If they tried that it would blow up on them worse than this impeachment thing is blowing up on them.
With that said, the way they are packing the voting blocks with liberal voters and immigrants and brainwashed kids and DACA kids and their path to citizenship.... there may come a day when no Branch ever has a chance of being Republican controlled ever again.
As a matter of fact Obama has gone on record as saying that his policies will not take full effect until twenty years after he left office for just that reason.

Obammy had bigger fish to fry....like weaponizing the FBI/DOJ and the intel agencies....something had to go on the back burner and that was many leaving judgeships unfilled.
