I need an expert opinion on what you think this means.
Not an expert, but I'm sure he thinks it means that the US doesn't have to import any oil.
It's amazing to me that so many people do not understand how that actually works.
Any idiot knows we will always import oil, we are one of the largest refiners of heavy crude that places like Canada and their tar sands cannot refine.
We are food independent but still import food.
Energy independent in a broad sense, not just oil as some knotheads define it, but all energy production, nuclear, bio, geothermal, hydro, natural gas, and oil, in standard equivs is it more than we consume....and under Trump it was, I dont know if its still true.
And while we may be "record" producing oil, where would we have been if we had left policies in place, probably a million or two barrels per day better off than we were. And goodness knows where we would have been in the natural gas biz if the regulators hadnt slow walked every pipeline, LNG plant etc.....just in time for Russia to cut off Europe when we could have owned the market, and now qatar.

Qatar likes money too much to do that
70% of their govt revenue comes from oil and gas, yeah they will stop exporting, heck we should slap a boycott on those little bitches.

If it’s true? It’s a fricking fact that is easily verified.

why isn't gas dropping and why did they release oil from the SPR?
Oil is a fungible, internationally traded commodity. SA and Russia have curtailed production to push up prices. Also easily verifiable and, I thought, common knowledge.

Production colllapsed when demand collapsed due to Covid. No other reason.

Fire up the keystone pipeline too
The sheer amount of work, land and easement acquisition, infrastructure, that went into this and was tossed away by the Democrats is criminal.
You can't just re-start it. It was years and years worth of negotiations to even make it feasible. They just killed it with the stroke of a pen.
If it "started up again" it would be a decade at least before any oil flowed through it.

Remember all those fracking outfits that went out of business?
Low oil prices did them no favors. Nor the banks that loaned them money.
The industry has learned and will not over produce as it hurts profits. Add in the fact ESG has made capital harder to get, and more expensive, and you are not likely to see a rush to increase production even with an oil friendly admin in the WH.
Frankly, expecting gas to cost the same as it did 20+ years ago is ridiculous.

I just wanted to save this jewel. Google. Lol.
This about to get really good in a couple of years, guys.
It’s over for them. We all know what needs to be done. Their agenda is shite. Changes every day.
Shale is surging. New discoveries are surging. These clowns are almost done.

The numbers I see show world oil production steady, and if anything there's a slight bump recently, so our prices should be down or holding steady from what they were during the Trump years.

They think simply because we are exporting more at present that must make us independent.

We dont need their oil anymore

If Qatar halts sales, we simply freeze all of their assets worldwide. Well, Trump would. Biden will probably recommend them for a Nobel prize.

Alright then. We won’t guarantee your security anymore. Goodluck on dealing with all the Islamist extremists when they try to take over Qatar. It was a good run for Qatar.
