Apparently for measles we needed 95 percent of the total population and for polio we needed at least 80 percent of the total population. Just quickly looked up. Not sure of the detailed stats there.
Regardless, we are a ways away.

You do realize patients usually don’t go straight from the ER entrance to being intubated and not able to talk right?

I work there. What we ARE seeing is an influx of people in the ER who THINK they have covid. It's fear that's driving this. Yes, there has been an uptick in covid and RSV. And the uptick is nothing near the first, second and third wave. And the only reason I will get the vaccine next year is because I will travel abroad.

As stated before the whole herd immunity theory starts to go out the window with reinfection rates.
