It has been known to clear my tangled brain up, if only temporarily.

Good policy but they need to be completely removed from the schedules and legalized.

I've been looking at this for years. This particular treatment is based on a root from some plant I've never heard of. They're also working on similar treatments based off of LSD and shrooms.
I have severe GAD w/panic disorder, nothing works on me except for benzo's and I don't particularly like taking them, but I have to if I want any sense of normalcy.
Psychedelic drugs are being shown to have a lot of promise for PTSD, anxiety, depression, and several other mental health issues along with a few non-mental health issues.

I’m definitely cautious about how this could be abused. I am convinced that there is a spiritual influence here that, on the surface, is not readily apparent to many people. Substances that alter the mind, like Ayahuasca, the 'pharmakeia' version Pharmahuasca containing DMT, and even psilocybin can thin the veil between the natural and spiritual.

While I’m all for helping people heal from things like PTSD, I think we have to be honest about the spiritual side of this, especially if you are a Christian who understands the spiritual battles that happen in the world (namely the Sunday school message of Ephesians 6). You probably have at least at times felt it in your own life. I’ve listened to accounts where people went in looking for God using DMT, only to encounter dark things that were clearly not from Him. If we don't recognize the spiritual battle and the influence of these substances, we’re missing a huge part of the picture and potentially leading unaware people into places they are not ready for.

In the ancient world, people during funeral rites would go into a drunken wine stupor called the Marzeah, which God addressed in Jeremiah 16:5 and Amos 6:4-7, and is heavily implied in Zephaniah 1:12. These were rituals intended to thin the veil, something God reprimanded nations for. The fact that modern substances require so much less effort to achieve even deeper states is a major concern to me with potentials for abuse.

I think the world we live in is already on shaky ground, and I am not particularly fond of creating legal means to open spiritual doorways into this world. My concern is that innocent people may end up dealing with the influence of forces that I rather no not let in, as others already go about to and fro in our midst.

Yes, thank you. Also, we need IQs to be 15-20 points higher on average. Any other world-beating ideas?

Hubbard often talks quite explicitly about the spiritual dimension of ibogaine.

The iboga plant. You can eat the entire root bark or you can take the distilled alkaloid - ibogaine. I recommend the former at a quality retreat center.

You are a candidate for proper use of a lot of these.

Nobody is going to force you to take a drug you don't want to take. At the same time, you don't have the right to deny other people's rights to try a drug shown to help. Hope that clears up your "concerns."

Zach has never used illegal drugs, Mkay. But I was in school when the craze hit in the 60s. LSD was credited with giving some rock bands inspriration for hits...like The Beatles. Marijuana was very common but studies proved a correlation between it's use and lower college GPAs among students with identical I.Q.s. The main cause was putting off assignments until you just scratched something together right before deadline and got a 'D'.
More recently there was a study that weed use causes early senility.

I can only speak for myself, and only for psilocybin; I've never tried any of the other stuff. It brought me much closer to God. I was a very weak Christian, as in, hadn't been to Church in probably 10-15 years, even though my kids and wife would go. I became much closer to God when taking it, got off alcohol, eased my mind, accepted myself for who I am, stopped having nightmares, and dreading the next bad call I may work. There were some tough "trips", but they always turned good at the end. I'm so much better off spiritually. Fwiw, I haven't taken a dose in close to a year.

It doesn't clear my concerns about society being on shaky ground and the potential for this to exacerbate problems I'd prefer not to see. However, you are absolutely right about the ability to make choices, which is fully respected. My intent was to shine a light on the potential consequences of choices that can affect society at large and also reflect on my more nuanced Christian based view, not to infringe on any good or bad choices you make.

One of you Baws told me about this years ago. I’m up for anything that helps people overcome obstacles with their mental health- bc of all health issues this is the one that concerns me the most.

Sincerely - I’ve always been confused about how or why a psychedelic drug can assist mental health and doesn’t make things worse. Does it make them hallucinate?

100% a believer in psychedelic therapy, i do it myself
to answer your question, i very rarely take a dose large enough to "trip" and if i do it's for fun or to blow out the cobwebs. i microdose with psilocybin or lsd, prefer lsd. i can tell i've taken it but i wouldn't say i'm high. it's on a cycle that can vary but generally 2-3 days on, 2-3 days off.
i'm not a doc so i couldn't get into the nuts and bolts of how it works but it seems to. haven't done ketamine therapy but one of my neighbors swears by it.
one of the rare instances i agree with the trump admin, cheers

I'm going to guess, by reading your comments, that you have never done psychedelics yourself. Is this correct?

Yes, they do. Trump spoke of Ibogaine. I've never done this one myself, but hear it from someone who has and why it may help people with their problems.

quote:

IBOGAINE
This morning, President Trump said don't forget that word. It's very important.

From my research, in the Ibogaine experience, the LIFE REVIEW is one of the most distinctive and transformative phases—often called the “acute visionary” stage. It typically unfolds over the first 4–12+ hours after ingestion and feels less like a traditional psychedelic “trip” and more like an involuntary, hyper-realistic cinematic replay of your entire life.

The Ibogaine Life Review isn’t just visions. It’s a hyper-realistic replay of your entire life. You relive memories in vivid detail, often from outside yourself, and crucially: you feel them through the eyes of everyone you’ve hurt or helped.

Patterns become crystal clear.
Childhood wounds > addictive behaviors.
Small choices > life-altering consequences.

The moments you betrayed your own soul. It’s not cruel judgment. It’s compassionate, ruthless honesty — like a wise guide showing you the truth. Most people walk away saying the same thing:

“I finally remembered who I really am.”
The layers fall away. The real you comes back online.
?? Powerful medicine.
