I googled "Nike stock" to see how far down they had gone (just down 2% so far, will drop more I am sure)

and I saw "nike subsidiaries" as a "related search term"

a few notables:

Converse
Hurley International

just a heads up guys

I really don't understand why anyone has an issue with Nike using Kaep. It's a free market. They are paying him to be part of an ad. If you were buying Nike products prior to this add, you are an idiot if you think any of the proceeds weren't used for (enter SJW or Dem cause here).

I don't understand using anyone that is controversial as a front man for their company. Why alienate any portion of your client base on purpose?

These people are stupid

They have to be pissed at something to express “patriotic” outrage.

Intentionally obtuse or just stupid? Those are the two options

Nike sells Cole Haan brand to Apax Partners

quote:

(Reuters) - Nike Inc (NKE.N) is selling its Cole Haan handbag and shoe brand to private equity firm Apax Partners for $570 million, nearly 24 years after buying it, the company said on Friday.

Nike, which is focusing on its namesake brand and Jordan, Converse and Hurley, planned selling its Umbro and Cole Haan brands. Umbro was sold for $225 million last month to Iconix Brand Group Inc (ICON.O).

Nike is just engaging in business. I’m pretty
sure they’re going to be okay.

probably, but they will be hurt by this, and they will wind up disassociating from Kaep, but still having to pay him

this move will cost them a lot of money and market share

put them out of business? lol - no

Yep. As a supporter of free markets, I encourage Nike (and every other corporation) to be very open about what they support. I can therefore, in that same free market, determine where I spend my dollars.

Hasn't Nike done this type of thing before? And again, when you are at the register buying a product. Why does it matter to you who endorsed it? Shouldn't the quality of the product be the reason you are buying it? I have never thought "Man I am really glad XXXX was endorsing this product otherwise I'd never buy it." while I was looking at buying or at the register buying a product.

For people who were buying Nike products who are now "outraged" yes, they have those options I suppose.

My household is a nike-free household now.

Wtf would I pay money for merchandise from A company that gleefully uses an antiwhite, anti-American spokesman?

I'm a white nonliberal and American.

I find it ironic that the theme of the campaign is that people should do what is right regardless of what it costs, and now people are going to moral stand in the name of hurting Nike’s stock.....

That is all

Nike stock will be hurting when next quarter earnings come out.....

just like Netflix stock which gave Hussein Barack Obama and his lovely wife, Michael, a $50 million dollar contract to produce educational films with Susan Rice appointed to its board......
