Imagine how pissed they would be if those gringos went there illegally, paid no taxes, lived 5-6 to a house, ensuring that even if they only paid 500 dollars a month each, they could easily afford a 2500/Month rent.... meaning landlords will all increase their rent to match what the illegals can pay, effectively making it impossible for a lot of locals to find a house or apartment they can afford.
Would probably piss them off even more if their taxes increased to pay for the benefits Mexico will give to illegal gringos.
Our younger generation is fricked right now. Nearly impossible to find housing, and most of the time, they've to have 3 or 4 roommates. Then they've to help supplement the group that is partially responsible for the uptick in housing prices, by paying higher taxes.

These aren't gringos moving to Mexico City. It's largely Mexican Americans going back to their ancestral homeland.

Go down to Puerto Vallarta. They are building high rise condos that are being bought by expat rich white liberals from the US and Canada. Many are being bought as income AirBNB properties. The same locusts that are pricing Arizonans, Nevadans, Coloradans, Montanans, New Mexicans, and Texans out of their homes are doing it to Mexicans.

Both of these statements, true about the respective countries, miss the point of the unintended consequences: unaffordable housing, restaurants and other luxuries, in Mexico; and depressed wages in the United States. And in each country, an ugly, uncomfortable foreign presence.

A lot of you guys come off as dense farm people who have no clue about cities or the people that live in them.
There are tons of Americans gentrifying cities all over the world because our incomes are higher and they don’t make enough to live in major us cities.
