But if so many Americans oppose gun control, aren't the kids being exposed to different information at home?
All the polls suggest that the NRA is winning the hearts and minds of young folks in the same way that NARAL and gay rights activists are winning the hearts and minds of young folks. Young folks today are more tolerant than their parents and grandparents on race, religion, abortion and gays, but they're also more pro-gun than their parents and grandparents.

British coworker told me they don't want him back.

frick Piers and anyone that agrees with him re guns. An unarmed public is a group of people awaiting a tyrant to raise his ugly head which will happen at some point in time.

Maybe, but they still have some evolving to do on this issue. I won't rest until guns are subsidized like corn and health insurance and bullets are free like contraception and abortion.
Until then, dems can Sandra Fluke themselves.

This.
Has anytime in history Americans exercised the right to carry a weapon in public and mass purchased ammo/semi auto "military" style rifles?
If anything, gun ownership is becoming a national trend.

He's never run for office as a Democrat. What's your point?

He was elected mayor of New York as a Republican, and that's a fact Jack.

Because he couldn't win nomination as a Democrat.
He's a liberal, through and through.

I didn't realize that Bloomberg's Republicanism was such a sensitive issue for you folks.

But if he was really a liberal, winning the nomination would have been no problem.

Yes, everyone knows the liberals always win the nomination. Folks like Dennis Kucinich, for example.

It's quite awesome how galvanized the supporters of the 2nd Amendment have become. And there's almost an internet grassroots element to it as well.

Bloomberg is one guy who can truly and accurately be called a RINO.

He's by no means a conservative. That's for damn sure. He's pro-choice, he's pro-gay marriage, he supports at least a few gun control measures, and is in favor of a pathway to citizenship for illegal immigrants. He's also very much in favor of the welfare state and is a believer in man-made global climate change.
I have no idea why he decided to switch parties, but the man was definitely not a conservative Republican while he was a member of the GOP from 2001-2007.
