She supported and was funded by Reid Hoffman, the LinkedIn billionaire who funded the E Jean Carroll civil suit. Why the hell would she reach out to that?

This is about labels.
I was responding to this post:

As I said before, the Nikki Haley “Republicans” are not Republicans,
So who are Republicans and who are "Republicans" to you?
My personal values/policy goals are completely internal and have nothing to do with party/pol/consensus/movement association or identification.

When Trump is not around you're going to have 30 grifters and a handful of pols try to sit in the MAGA throne.
Professional Republicans will not do this.
When Trump is gone MAGA will not be gone. The question will be, who takes the mantle and are they strong enough to fight the professional uniparty? I admit, the chances of having a strong leader represent the populous movement like Trump has after Trump is gone is questionable at this point.

Remember when FunBunch Gene Church said she was a lock for the VP position

Fighting the other MAGA factions is going to hurt them before they get the chance to attack the civilized world
Think 10+ Trump-Desantis conflicts going on.

Trump has brought in the Rust Belt working class into the Republican Party. Before Trump Ohio used to be a bellwether state. It’s solid red now because of Trump.
When Trump is gone I fully expect the professional Republicans to jettison the Rust Belt working class. If they gain control Ohio is questionable and WI, MI and PA turn solid blue.

Need more people like Senator Vance. I don’t see him losing his foothold in Ohio.

Well there will be a conflict. You will always have a hard time getting both the hourly union worker and the person who owns the company that worker is employed by.
If MAGA/Trump keeps up, the Republicans are losing the well to do purple areas to offset the Rust Belt.
Democrats have been able to walk the fine line by having the 2 populations largely separated geographically (with the "owners" all in urban areas). Republicans can't do this.

This new definition of "Republican" is less than 8 years old without a huge amount of success nationally.
Trump is the only Republican not named Bush to win a Presidential election in almost 40 years. He did something Bob Dole, John McCain and Mitt Romney failed miserably at. Republicans were losers long before Trump got into politics.

I agree. Senator Vance will play a key role in keeping the gains that Trump has made in the Rust Belt together and possibly growing them.

And has time has gone on, it's seen as an outlier where all the lucky events fell his way.
MAGA/Trump took huge Ls in 2018, 2020, and 2022.

If there are professional republicans there must be unprofessional republicans.

Trump was not on the ballot in 2018 and 2018 followed the traditional election cycle where the incumbent party takes losses. Happens in both parties.

2020
I don’t believe we need to rehash this here. Everyday we have a topic on this board about 2020.

2022
Red wave predicted. Red wave thwarted by professional Republicans like McConnell to a red trickle that has the House in thin GOP control.
I hope you understand that the professional GOP class does not mind losing elections. Sometimes they prefer it. MAGA is not like this. We want to win. Professional Republicans prefer losing if it means they can remain in their political positions in government and hide behind Democrat leadership and participate in the grift.
