Much more likely that he was aiming center mast & missed high, or the theory that Kirk was wearing a chest plate & it ricocheted up to the neck. Slow mo/still photos do make it appear there was chest impact first.

Hitting something the size of a human torso at 200 yards with a properly sighted hunting rifle isn’t a highly skilled shot.

All I meant by that was he has spent some time on the range. He didn't just buy a gun at Walmart last week and decided to kill Charlie Kirk.

I have seen multiple article/posts with the rifle depicted in deeprig9's post.

Perhaps it is wrong, but I haven't seen anyone contradict that it was the rifle. If it not the correct rifle I would expect the correct one is a quick takedown variety for it to be broken down quickly enough to allow the getaway before the crowd moved by. I would also question why take the risk exposing himself when he had cleared the scene. Why not get farther away and more private, but I guess panic could have set in.

Every mfering hunter claims he can make a 200 yard shot, (just like every fisherman limits out every time, etc etc m) I have used a 30 06 for 30 something years with a nice 50mm Leopold scope and they are full of shite. You have to be lucky on long shots with a 30 06 will often have bullet drop or wind effect even at 200 yards. A 308 is much better for that or even a 270 or a 300 magnum would definitely be best but sound like a cannon going off. Probably 90% of food plots for deer are under 150 yards.

I hit a walking buck at 150 once because I didn’t have a choice. But I couldn’t hit the mfer in the head when he was on the ground.

Whoever took that shot was absolutely not a recreational hunter or someone like that but trained

yes, he makes sure the object (something long and slim like a rifle) comes with him when he jumps off. then, when he gets up off the ground he stuffs something under his right arm to carry, which is wrapped in a shirt, towel...something. then takes off running and looks down at the object. he's clearly very concerned with whatever the long object is under his arm.

I think you are correct. I had previously viewed on a phone screen but now seeing it on a large monitor you can see he has something.

Everyone keeps saying 200 yards just going off of that. Drop using the climate data at the time is -4.3” but at 150 -1,3”. Big difference.

You need to quit. This is ridiculous and you are spreading bad information.

Brother,

It’s not a hard shot for someone who has practiced not even trained. Utah is filled with ELR shooters.

Something making it harder would be aiming for his head for instance.

If you are stupid enough to believe that you are the biggest sheeple on this site.

So let’s be clear u are saying some mfer libtard no military training etc, just decided to kill him and that was the gun right? Lol

from watching the video it appears he has the gun laid in the towel like a sling and he is carrying the gun by the strap along with both sides of the towel in the same spot. It's deceptive because the front of the towel is waving around but that's because there is noting actually securing the towel around the barrel.

So we are around 34 or 35 hours from when Charlie was shot.

What is it they say on "The First 48"? If there are "no significant leads withing 48 hours, the chances of solving the murder are cut in half" or something like that?

Idk if that stat is actually true or not, but if it is...they may just get away with this heinous shite. I cannot believe they have so little information. We'll, I cant believe this is all they've made public. At this point, you have seen the public reaction. There is, I think, more sympathy for Charlie and his family, that it would help to get the public involved and give us the most information possible to catch this guy.

Bruh.
They have pictures of the guy.
Are you under the impression that a picture of the perp isn’t a “significant lead?”

Take a fricking breath.

There are a few factors here. Namely, did this guy really plan to disappear? This type of crime has no return:

If he left the shooting and immediately went to the airport, (Salt Lake is 35 mins from campus) and boarded an international flight. He would have stepped off the flight this morning. With a massive head start.

They put out pictures of half a face of a dude in sunglasses and a hat. Oh yeah...and on from behind him.

They want us to make note of his clothes and his Converse sneakers . All that shite is in a trashcan or a burn pile somewhere. So no, a couple terrible photos, with no name, and a grainy video from 50 yards away of him jumping off a building arent very significant if that's all the info the FBI puts out a day and a half later.

Keep bitching.

They knew the route he took leaving. They knew the route he took coming in

If he got caught on camera at the university, do you think he avoided cameras getting to his getaway car?

Seriously take a breath.
