I’m watching the us open and I guess one of the announcers is from Australia. He said they had 100 cases today in a city of a few million people and the whole country is on lockdown

The problem with I have with that link is the comments. Most of the people commenting are exhibiting faux outrage and would never actually do anything against a draconian govt.

I always chuckle when I read posters saying they will move to Australia.
Unless you’re planning to live in a tiny station in the interior you’re moving to a down under version of California.

The same here.
Don’t get me wrong....I enjoyed for the most part my time living there...but I had my fill and was ready to return to the United States after a few years.
Sydney is fun to visit but after awhile it’s a drag living there. The small town was great-great people. But they’ve become used to living under draconian local councils and state and federal governments since the end of WWII.
Although this really bumps it up a few notches. At least, for now, you can still call the Prime Minister a drongo bum pirate wanker and not get thrown into prison.
