I started posting here way back when I was in undergrad and I have an affinity for some of the long time posters here. I wasn't always this hated.

I come here for discussion. I don't talk politics with my friends or family. I like to hear other perspectives and ways of thinking about issues. I do learn things from here at times.

I prefer the more philosophical discussions. The attempts to shut down discussions about the present political climate by saying someone is a lib or voted for xyz doesn't interest me.

And it helps the time at work pass quickly when I don't have things to do.

If I was really here looking for attention, wouldn't it make more sense for me to agree with people and charm them with thoughtlessness?

Believe it or not, I don't love being called a bitch, count, slut, whore, etc. by grown men I've never met on the internet.

I saw the multi-page thread about Rep. Crockett saying something stupid (which is STILL on the front page) and it annoyed me that posters love to mock and condescend minorities and women, especially minority women, as if men who look like them never say anything stupid. I guess it was a clap back.

Thanks for the explanation. I appreciate your perspective as a young woman, but do you think any of the people attacking Rep. Crockett would hesitate to attack Joe Biden?

For me, the discussion in this thread was valuable for because it highlighted the difference between the "rabid window lickers" (Trump is never wrong!!! And anyone who suggests he might be is evil!!!) and rational MAGA (Trump has flaws, but Trump....warts and all...is necessary to save the Republic).
