Some folks have been saying almost since this began that this would eventually come to an end once the Basij turned against the IRGC. Between this and the reports of the fighting in South Eastern Iran, hopefully we are beginning to see elements within the country decide it's time for the IRGC to get the hell out.

Economic pressures internally are what create revolutions.

Who knows what the exact reasoning behind it is. What's interesting to me is the Basij acting independently of the Government and IRGC leadership and also the reports of fighting in southern Iran. Things may be taking a turn in all of this.

I fully expect the Basij eventually turns on the IRGC.

If they are hardline and firing on merchant ships, they aren’t a partner. All we can hope for is they destroy each other and something else emerges.

I think what they're aiming for is for the IRGC and the Basij to start fighting one another by making them distrust one another. The hardliner elements see any sort of negotiation as treason that is punishable by death. So you set the more hard-line elements against one another and then behind the scenes you convince the regular army to handle the frickin lot of them and liberate the country from within.

I think you see a coup.

Ok.

I don't see much reason to doubt it particularly considering it's exactly what people have been expecting would eventually happen since the beginning of this.

I have no respect for the kid rapists in northern Iran. Or the southern Muslims.

Just keep the Middle East out of my country.

I would almost bet they have the timing on all of it figured out well in advance.

Sounds like trump is giving a bunch of folks in Iran 5,000 dollars or more to fight. Probably a lot more. Dark money is endless.
