Protestantism is the true American religion
Really? I thought that the Declaration of Independence and Constitution sounded awfully like they had been shaped by Natural Law. Guess I was wrong.

am not Catholic but do attend mass on occasions. a few weeks ago the priest read a letter to the congregation from the bishop of fort worth about DJT's EO on immigration....oh my, would not have been received in many mainline Protestant circles

quote:
"My God, my God, why have you forsaken me."-Jesus Christ.
It is completely human to have moments of doubt. I don't think there is anything wrong with that quote, especially if the next sentence was something about after his doubt he always finds a way to trust in God and get through it.
Dramatic - but doesn't fit the narrative.
In the first case we have a Pope indicating he's not always sure of GOD's existence - of doubt - a publicly stated doubt.
While in the second case (the verse "why...why..why) is being personally directed to GOD. It's not, "where in the hell are YOU".. or... "come out, come out, where-ever you are" It's more why this LORD. It's not feeling a void (of presence), he's in fact talking to...asking... querying HIS reason.

25 clicks and that out of context quote only seen in Die Ziet
most eloquent and in context reference from upi LINK [/quote]:
"See what happens. But to frighten myself or rejoice over what may happen, in that I think we can fall into a great recklessness. ... It will be seen. We will see what he does and there he will be evaluated. Always the concrete," Francis replied. "Concrete things. And from the concrete we draw the consequences. We lose much of the sense of the concrete. I was told the other day by a thinker that this world is so disordered that it lacks a fixed point. And it is precisely the concrete that gives you the fixed points. What you did, what you decided, how you moved. That's why I hope and see."

quote:There are none that I'm aware of, but I wasn't referring to a populist "movement". Support of the lower castes of society is something that is consistent with the Bible. Jesus preached to the lowest of society. Salvation was for the weak and the poor as it was received by faith and not bought with money. The rich were chastised, not because of their wealth, but because they put their faith and trust in their riches and not in God. A message of hope to the common man is very much in line with the scriptures, only the hope should be in Christ and not in some political savior.
So populist movements based on man's intentions work out well? Looking back through history, please give me populist movements which based themselves on the Gospel and worked towards that end.
I'll hang up and listen.

The bible is fiction.

quote:The formal arrangement was decided by the councils. The texts, themselves, were existent prior to those canonical decisions.
A bible decided on by church councils?
Come on man. I don't like this pope, but seriously.

He's the long awaited anti-pope.

I would prefer to believe this pope is mistaken and maybe misled, rather than deliberately collaborating with globalist one world government forces, as that would be closely kin to the things in the Book of Revelation that point to the anti-Christ.

Your statement that populism doctrine is against elitists looks pretty red, comrade.
By definition that defines populism.

The 19th century was neither nationalistic nor globalistic and it was peaceful. Relatively speaking of course. The state wasn't always in charge.

The Pope lets some Cardinal do his favorite altar boy while he watches?

The timing and motivation of this interview is amateur hour transparent. The Vatican's financial masters are scared shitless Geert winning would be enough to springboard Le Pen.
