So the pope being okay with blessing gay couples put a dent in your faith? What about the decades’ long tradition of raping innocent children and then actively covering it up and then making hush money payments and settlements to victims using the money collected through the faithful’s tithing? That bother you at all or shake your faith?

The Official answer is

NEGATIVE.

But, won't the people who hate the Church just pretend to not know this so that they can continue to spread lies?

Answer: YES, THEY WILL.

That would shake anybody's Faith. But, none of these crimes and errors changed the fundamental theology and Catechism of the RCC. People who understand these theological issues understand this.

People who just go to whichever local church that has the nicest-looking campus do not understand this.

Jesus knew that Judas would betray Him, but Jesus allowed Judas to be an Apostle anyway. A Traitor betrayed the Son of God! Does that not shake your Faith that the Founder of this Church allowed Judas to be an Apostle?

nothing official has happened. show me where he is now allowing figs to be married and ordained like the EPISCOPALIANS/ANGLICANS, NORTHERN BAPTISTS, LUTHERANS, PRESBYTERIANS, etc. I believe methodists are about to allow it also and thus the church splitting like the presbyterians.

many churches are having schisms. RCC may be no different before it is all over.

true. but I pretty much grew up in the Bush/Obama years. it went from we just want marriage benefits to getting blessed during Catholic mass. Overton window, the government is now seeping into the church.

I don't think its that big of a deal to leave the church. it was a good run, no ill will towards what they decide to do but I won't betray my belief system.

Why not? Because “Paul” says women should remain quiet in church?

Is it possible that a celebate devout woman might be a better priest than many if not most of the current priests who are (secretly practicing) homosexuals including many pedophiles?

People have got to be insane to allow their children to be altar boys and go on Catholic retreats without the parents present.

No he is allowing, out of "pastoral care", the blessing of gay couples.

No he isn't. People are taking his response to a dubia completely out of context, and at the same time, forgetting that he has already stated the Church cannot bless same sex unions, because the Church cannot bless sin.

He’s not saying the church can now marry gay couples but what’s wrong with blessing them?

God did command the stoning of homosexuals. Is it wrong for the pope to endorse behavior for which God himself prescribed a gruesome death penalty?

John says whomever does not confess Jesus is driven by the spirit of the antichrist. If Jesus is God, then the Pope is countering God’s commandments, a symptom of the spirit of the antichrist.

Does not make sense....you can't bless it, if it is not scriptual.

what? of course it made me suspicious of the clergy. always had that thought in my mind that one of the priests might be another gay infiltrator trying to rape little boys. Yes the covering ups and schemings are well known facts, and openly denounced by the community.

now they are openly flaunting the degeneracy right in front of kids.

The Jesuit Pope is doing well and fine in that task alone. Rather than bringing clarity and light to matters of Catholic doctrine, Francis repeatedly seeds confusion and uncertainty among the faithful. I’m tired of acting as if this all some media plot to twist Francis’ words.

nah because jesus chose his apostles as all males.

and current bishops are descendant from those original apostles (i.e. believe in one holy, catholic and apostolic, church

doesnt change anything.

tge bigger question is why are some of the cardinals asking the same questions that were already answered two years ago

Pope hasnt changed anything to dogma of the church (i.e. from the chair of St peter or ecumenical council)

Both of these are true - he does cause confusion and uncertainty with his public media comments AND media does twist his words to make it worse.

You would not bless a rapist.

Not so fast. God specifically allowed rape of virgin Israelite girls if the rapist could pay the bride price (dowry) to the father. Also, in war after murdering their fathers, mothers, and brothers, Israelite men could rape all the leftover virgins.

Just trying to be fair here. God didn’t endorse rape always, but he did sometimes. Some rapists were worthy of blessings according to the creator of the universe.
