This is troubling stuff. It’s also informative, because it helps explain just why younger Americans seem so comfortable embracing identity politics and large, intrusive government. If you’d never heard of the genocide of the Jews by an all-encompassing state focused laserlike on race-based differences between people, you might be warmer to the notion that racial hierarchies in politics ought to exist. You might also be warmer to the claims of genocidal Islamist terror groups who claim that Israel is a land of victimizers. And if you’d never heard of the Soviet Union, you might be more sanguine about the possibility of socialism in the United States.

Once the liberal scourge is cleared out of govt, a return to one party rule will have them thinking clearer.

Every kid going through public or private school should be forced to watch band of brothers, the pacific, and the rise and fall of the third Reich, and then write a 15 page paper about it. Young people have no fricking idea what these guys went through.

So, half the millennials run around screaming about Trump being Hitler and his supporters are Nazis. But they don't know about one of the largest atrocities committed by said man/group?

They have replaced History with Cultural Marxism, primarily black grievance. Good luck finding a HS kid who can tell you about the Holocaust, The Armenian Holocaust, Rwanda, The Khmer Rouge, 60 million dead under Mao, The Soviet Gulags and purges, The Irish potato famine, etc. History has essentially been scrubbed by Progressives in 30 years. The only message of history that is really urgently taught is that the history of America has been uniquely racist and oppressive.

You have a problem with diverting any discussion away from Race Grievance, specifically black victimology. Kids today learn all about slavery and Jim Crow, ad nauseam. Maybe we could fit the rest of the human experience in there somewhere too? Ask a black teen who "the boat people" were or what happened in Armenia or Rwanda for instance, and watch the blank stares.
