I agree 100% with what you are saying here. That is exactly what will happen.

The conundrum is the conflicting polls:

"We don't want Iran to have nukes, but we don't like the actions related to making that a reality."

I was going to make some joke about this being similar to how my wife tells me to do things, but that would have been "misogynistic".

Trump campaigned on peace. This ain’t it. We don’t want to have anything to do with Ukraine or Gaza or Iran.

Hard to believe that poll when Trump is at 54% approval.

That's a great general question to get the answer you want. If you just ask, "Should the military get involved?," most are going to think about boots on the ground and say no.

If you ask the question, "Are you ok with military strikes to destroy nuclear facilities as long as no troops are on the ground?," you'll have about an 80% affirmative response.

There are levels of involvement. It's not a strictly all or nothing scenario.
