My only quibble was with you saying you lacked the power to do it. I don't suspect that's accurate.

- are you seeking recommendations? == would need much more info - otherwise any suggestions would be meaningless at best and harmful at worst. what age range? what kind of temperament? any prior criminal record? status of parents? etc.
- are you seeking admiration? = OK - I am glad there are people who devote their time to helping those more unfortunate than they. Would need to know much more to comment further.
- are you being paid to lend your assistance? - full time professional? - part time volunteer? worker at church? concerned neighbor?
Whatever it is, I hope you are acting in the best interest of the individual and not an influencer of political leaning.
