Poland offers the U.S. 2 billion dollars to build military base

Poland wants a permanent U.S. military presence — and is willing to pony up as much as $2 billion to get it, according to a defense ministry proposal obtained by Polish news portal Onet.
The Polish offer reflects a long-standing desire in Warsaw to build closer security relations with the U.S. and put American boots on the ground.
Poland wants to pay their fair share

Am I the only one who didn’t even think about Poland 2 years ago but now views it as the best European country?

Trump should jump on that immediately and make a huge deal out of it. At the same time he should pull out of Germany 100% with no prior warning.

I’m fine with this. Since the end of the Cold War, any front line bases would have to be much further east than before since the dissolution of the Warsaw Pact.
If our bases in Germany are starting to age out of usefulness it may be a good time to move east.

That’s definitely what Putin wants.

Cool offer (and understandable, given Poland's eastern neighbor), but I don't know that we need to expand our footprint on the Continent.
OTOH, before the fall of the Iron Curtain our troops were forward-positioned near the border with the Warsaw Pact countries. Maybe we SHOULD make an eastward move of the center-of-gravity of our military presence.

Polish guy gets a magic lamp, rubs it, and gets three wishes.
For each wish, he asks for Poland to get invaded by a Mongol horde.
Afterward, the genie asks why and is told “Because they have to cross Russia twice each time.”

Let's do it. REFORPOL. Empty out Germany, move East and never go back. The Germans don't deserve our money anyhow and the Poles want us.

No it isn't. It puts US troops/air power up against Kaliningrad Oblast, and Belarus with direct lines of attack to targets within interior Russia.
The Russians cant stand the fact that the Navy and Air Force forward deploy to Poland and the Baltic States for extended periods. This would make it permanent.

I used to work on a young doctors house . He highly recommended moving there to teach English for a few years. Says every single woman is beautiful, and his smoking hot wife was only about a 7 by their standards.

Adam Kase, lives in Poland

Many Polish people have very romantic view of America. They see it as a country it used to be in 1800s- the land of freedom where you could make your dreams come true.
In 1800s Poland was occupied by Russia, Germany and Austria. The Austrian part was the poorest and living conditions there made many Polish highlanders move to America in search of better life. And many of them found their American dream. They wrote letters to their families back home telling them how life was better across the ocean. The legends quicly spread all across Poland and people started to see America as a kind of promised land.
After WW2 when Poland was occupied by communists, America became a symbol of capitalism- a wonderful system where you are free to succeed and free to fail. Everybody wanted to moved there and get rich.
Today it is hard for Polish people to move to USA. That’s because of immigration system designed by Democrats that favours immigrants from 3rd World countries. And we think: ‘if it’s so hard to move there, it must be the best place on Earth to live, right?’
So, Polish people don’t really move to America for what it is. They move there for what they believe it to be.

That goes for pretty much any Slav or Hispanic woman in my experience.
They look great young but when the weight comes, it has reinforcements.

A big myth that all polish women are beautiful.

It’s a bad idea.
We have no business in Europe at this point.

Damn, a nation that not only wants us there, but will help pay the rent? That's a new one.
And we do need a bit more presence in the area.

What national security interest does that serve?
