How dumb are CNN readers that they need to have this explained to them?

Well, they believe that an old man in a dress should be able to crap in the stall next to your five year old daughter, so you tell me.

Maybe your definition of bad is different than mine.

We definitely have a different definition of "control".

You already have a thread about that so no need to rehash it.

Man sending troops to be vulnerable targets.

You missed the thread where he said our troops would be "sponges" for incoming fire.

Yeah...great stuff.

These troops would deny the enemy the key terrain from which the launch drones and mines in the strait and also allow us to put air defenses on them to intercept enemy missiles and drones before they reach the shipping channels.

Based on the range of the drones involved in attacking shipping we would have to conquer far more than Kharg Island to have any impact whatsoever.

The range in which they can impact shipping and infrastructure is apparently roughly equivalent to the land mass of California according to experts.

So absent a full scale land invasion a small incursion and permanent occupation would have zero impact whatsoever.

Well I don’t give a shite about Kharg Island. It’s not even in the strait.

I guess if you call being able to read a map an expert. Which you clearly can’t because you don’t know where Kharg island is.

So what area are you proposing we invade? Is that not what you were advocating for?

Taking the strait with our navy and ground troops. Restarting a full scale bombing campaign.

Is this your detailed plan?

The functional range is hundreds of miles for some of their munitions.

Absent invading in depth to a distance that would prevent them launching on the strait how would this change the status quo with regard to shipping and the flow of energy in that area, much less allow us to permanently extricate ourselves without leaving them in a greatly enhanced position?

What functional strategic advantage would it provide us as our troops and naval vessels fight insurgents in your own words become easy fixed targets for their artillery and missile attacks at a time when we lack the missile defense munitions to protect more fixed targets?

Even CNN believes we are winning the war. We have an economic strangle hold on Iran that its leaders are vocal about it stifling their economy. CNN had no choice but to follow the IRGC leaders opinion on its economy and the war. Democrats don’t want to hear this and will continue to say we are either losing the war or we should not be in it, which is untrue as Iran or one of its proxies would indeed use it or threaten to use it to hold hostage the Middle East. While I. Are about the mid terms and history says the party not occupying the White House typically wins, I believe the right direction is the very thing we have been doing. Limited strikes and economic pressure by managing the straight. Limited numbers of American soldiers are hurt or injured and no money for the IRGC to fund their proxies. I believe they will ultimately relent. If not their once proud country will be ruined.

Larak, Greater and Lesser Tunb and maybe Siri islands. Qeshm if need be but that would be a tough nut to crack. Heavy and consistent naval presence inside the straight and in between the Iranian coastline and the shipping lanes. Obviously persistent air overhead. Anti air defenses would have to be brought in quickly to the islands.

Or, instead of getting thousands of Americans killed, we could just continue to suffocate them. It's working. It's inevitable. And it doesn't get anyone killed that doesn't need it.

You leftists are the most bloodthirsty pacifists in history.
