Read story.
They claim to have access to low cost electricity.
Massive electricity is required to produce aluminum.
And trumpians, please explain the source of the low cost electricity.

You do not have to swear or wonder about that.
Bill Maher has literally said this twice now and I have yet to see a liberal on his show or in the media disagree with him.

Bouchard formed the company in 2016 before Trump won the presidency. The site selection and announcement of the plant were made prior to the tariffs. The tariffs will improve the economics of the plant, however, they aren't the reason for the plant.

I'd venture to say an investment like this probably has some feed engineering going back to 2015 or earlier.
No. Companies are formed, billion dollar investments made, state subsidies/investments and tax incentives provided and ground broken on aluminium plants with in months of a tariff announcement.

Kentucky already has the lowest cost industrial electricity in the South.

Man watching CelticDog dismantle you guys has been damn entertaining.
I am reasonably certain that now that you have been presented with the facts of jjbot's claim...you will begin the insults...your go to when you are proven that your point has no merit.

are you suggesting that the electricity will no longer be there? Because the costs are via long term contract, as with any plant or factory.
Some plants have such good contracts that they end up selling some of their cheaper electricity to other plants or factories and making even more profit.
I've worked with chemical plants who were negotiating the sales of their contract electricity and natural gas to other plants. When the chemical profit margins were down, in this case ammonium nitrate, they made more money by selling natural gas futures and not making fertilizer

The plant operated over a year with temporary employees, so it didn’t close due strictly to the union.
Cheap Chinese aluminum is the main reason. With Trump being tough on trade I’m wondering if these plant will start back up.
Like I mentioned it's most likely to be acquired by Cheniere energy

A third, $3 billion stage for a third LNG train will follow at a later date and take about four years to complete. There are also long-term plans to expand even further, with Cheniere looking to purchase the old Sherwin Alumina site currently owned and being cleaned up by Corpus Christi Alumina, for additional LNG facilities.
The large vision and scope of the project is because of growing international demand for LNG, particularly in Asian markets.

So we don't know the exact # of employees needed to operate the facility and what their average salary will be? Who cares?

OP did when spouting yesterday's talking points.
You clearly do.
We live in a world where the truth isn't true. Kinda fun isn't it.

1800 temporary construction jobs and somewhere between 5 or 6 hundred permanent jobs is a nice economic boon to a small area in eastern KY
Most of the construction labor will likely come from out of state though

Why has Harley-Davidson had problems?
Because if you’re suggesting that trump is what is causing Harley Davidson’s problems, then you don’t know the entirety of the situation.

“When you’re managing revenues, which will be $1.5 billion out of this facility, and 550 people working as a team, you have to be efficient. Move quick … Throw all those work rules out. Labor unions are somewhat restrictive with those things,” said Bouchard, whose lengthy business resume includes executive positions and ownership of aluminum and steel manufacturing companies, banking and software development.
