Yeah, but we aren’t fully closed right now. People are working from home, some people are still going the office, we are not under martial law. Not even close to being closed fully. Kids are learning from home. Lawn service guys are still working, home repairmen are still working, restaurants are open doing to-go orders, Pet stores, liquor stores, etc. all still open. The only change is that the number of people that can gather is limited. If you worked in an industry the relies on large gatherings then, yes you have been impacted, like service industry, movie theaters, sports concessions, etc.

This is an unbelievably ignorant take

You're wrong. The restaurant industry has been decimated. 20% of sales through to go orders will not sustain those businesses.

Correct. But free market capitalism will kick in and weed out what wasn’t necessary to begin with. Our economy was over expanded and needed a retraction anyways. Especially the restaurant business.

Sure, if you want to open a sandwich shop or burger place in a town of 20,000 that already has 14 sandwich shops and 26 burger places, go ahead and do so, but don’t get upset when things go south and it doesn’t work out.

July has Mulan & Tenet
August has Wonder Woman II
September has Conjuring III, A Quiet Place II. Candyman & Kingsman
October has Halloween Kills & The Witches (remake)
November - Black Widow. No Time To Die. Soul. Godzilla Vs Kong
December - Free Guy. Tom & jerry. Dune. Top Gun

But why would any of these keep those dates as opposed to moving it back when the country is fully open and everything back to normal?

I would say I’m more optimistically pragmatic than miserable. But I appreciate your compassion.

- April 18: 710,000 cases / 35,000 deaths

Thats IT???

The regular flu a couple years back had 43,000,000 cases, 810,000 in hospitals and 62,000 dead Americas.
Why was there not only no shutdown, but no one even gave it a second thought.

Serious question:
What is your explanation for the difference in response?

This disease will kill over 100k by the end of 2020. Without social distancing it would be over 1 million. Do you think saving 900k lives is worth it?

How many deaths would obliteration of the safety net cause?

Dude - things were opening yesterday - Tons of people out and about - 50 kids playing basketball at the local park. People are done. We will be fully open in a month - doesn’t matter what the government says. This entire thing is bs anyway.

It really hasn’t set in for you that this wet dream of top-down control is almost over.

it’s just rudimentary epidemiological forecasting

Rudimentary epidemiological forecasting, with the emphasis on rudimentary, is what got us shut down. Thanks.

I'm so tired of the morons. The numbers are what they are WITH the mitigations in place. Had we done nothing as so many of you demand the numbers would be considerably higher... And if that number tipped over a certain threshold would have overwhelmed ICUs increasing severe outcomes for all critical care not just Covid... Not to mention.. With no shutdown people are still getting shot, getting in car accidents... Further clogging ICUs.

It really isn't that hard if you have two brain cells to rub together and get your head out of your arse.
