What will they show? All major movie releases have been pushed to Nov/Dec at earliest and most until next year.

Do the studios move release dates up? What happens if several blockbusters open and in a week or two there is a spike in several major metro areas?

It really hasn’t set in for some of you. We are not going back to a full on opening until there is a vaccine. Even with our social distancing measures in place the virus continues to spread.

- February 18: 15 cases / 0 Deaths
- (March 11: Widespread cancellations of sports and gatherings begin / March 16: Nationwide shut down becomes official)
- March 18: 9300 cases / 150 Deaths
- April 18: 710,000 cases / 35,000 deaths

And we haven’t even peaked yet. After we peak cases don’t just disappear overnight. You have to come down from the hill after going up it. And then what? We just open back up and start the cycle again and more people die?

Yeah it sucks, but until a regular vaccine is made, our old way of life with large gatherings ain’t happening. Theaters, concerts, sporting events, etc. This is the new normal.

Pretty sure we aren’t going to hold everything for 18 months waiting on a vaccine that will probably be as effective as the flu vaccine and a bunch of people won’t even take it. The big jump is slowing down and there will be a slow burn for a good while. What we are able to do will be determined by how slow of a burn it turns out to be. The big jump was far less than predicted but substantial, so I’m going to guess about the same going forward. There will be people getting sick and dying from this but health systems will not be stretched and the world will go on.

Doomer forum is here

And we will be fully open back to normal by July 4. Unless you are Yankee, then you will have to wait on a vaccine.

I’m not trying to rustle any jimmies; it’s just rudimentary epidemiological forecasting. The sooner you accept this current state of affairs, the sooner you can plan and envision your life accordingly in such a way as to maximize your quality of life until the return to pre-COVID-19 normalcy. There’s no reason to be emotionally obstinate. It is what it is.

My opinion they should not open casinos unto after June at earliest. You sit on top each other and everybody touches same buttons over and over. What's everybody’s thoughts on Mississippi casino openings? As far as time line.

Sorry but staying closed up almost fully until there's a vaccine is insane.

I'm not even far righty like this board is and I find it insane. If we were to go longer than May-June, we're opening up to a hoist of other problems.

I was kind of shocked they didn't give casinos the phase 2 timeline to open up in june/july they fall into the large crowd category

alabama is reopening its casinos bingo halls and race tracks on may 1st assuming meemaw approves

and auctions. movie theatres. etc will have to wait until june/july most likely

You'll probably be the first in line for that "vaccine." Screw that, I'm not falling for their nonsense to inject me with another chemical.

Yeah, but we aren’t fully closed right now. People are working from home, some people are still going the office, we are not under martial law. Not even close to being closed fully. Kids are learning from home. Lawn service guys are still working, home repairmen are still working, restaurants are open doing to-go orders, Pet stores, liquor stores, etc. all still open. The only change is that the number of people that can gather is limited. If you worked in an industry the relies on large gatherings then, yes you have been impacted, like service industry, movie theaters, sports concessions, etc.

The people having a hissy fit and sky screaming about being everything being closed are being overly dramatic Nancys.
