After you are convicted is NOT the time to start running your mouth at the Feds.
After conviction is when you better put your hat in your hands, your toe in the dirt, and give the them the "please Massa Judge...Toby be good from now on. You won't have any problems out of Toby. No sir. None!"
That idiot probably just got a minimum of 5 extra years tacked on. Maybe 10.

A judge may have been considering a 10 year sentence. Seeing a total lack of remorse is the quickest way to get an increase in sentence.
Plus, the longer you get, usually means the worse the prison. You're not getting Montgomery with a 15-20 year sentence.
Now they won't send a softie like him behind the wall in Atlanta or Lewisburg. He will probably get stuck in West Memphis or Butner. Not behind the wall, but tough enough places you can get your arse beat if you're soft.

Who said he was? His profile and sticking the finger was the reason why the Feds came at him. And yes they did try to get him on ripping off Retrophins to pay off hedge fund investors.

They didn't try to get him on defrauding Peter to pay Paul. They convicted him of defrauding Peter to pay Paul.
And I think we'd all welcome your analysis of the deficiencies in bringing those charges and the evidence presented.

When companies have other investors you can't just take from one group to cover up an unauthorized loss to another group. When you are in charge of other people's money, it isn't your money. The conviction for securities fraud was correct.
Then to but a bounty on HRC's scalp? Or hair? Or whatever? Not a good idea for a person in post conviction bail.
