He probably got a promise from the judge that he will throw out the case.

sn’t that considered obstruction of justice? Or is that only if you attempt to lean on a witness?

Or intimidation of a public official. Maybe Comey Jr went to threaten him

I was a law clerk for a federal district judge. My boss would NEVER have taken that meeting.

Well this judge is a democrat appointed by fjb, so the corrupted fruit doesn't fall far from the poisoned tree.

Don't they call that "ear wigging"?

SFP: this is common practice in the legal world. In fact, Comey’s son-in-law was probably offering his assistance to the judge.

The skeptic in me has to wonder why they were meeting if Comey hadn't even been indicted yet. It's almost like they ALREADY KNEW he would be the presiding judge.

That's a good point. I think in multi-judge divisions, the judge presiding (just for procedural questions) over the Grand Jury is normally not the same judge who presides over the trial if there is an indictment.

The Alexandria division has four judges...did the son-in-law guess? Good catch. I would like to hear an innocent explanation if there is one.

I haven't seen him in too many of these threads. Maybe his Grok is acting up and he doesn't know how to answer

It's possible, since the indictment hadn't happened yet, that the judge didn't know at the time of the meeting that an indictment was coming and/or that he would be assigned to hear the case.

However, once he learns of the indictment, and realizes that he JUST had a meeting with Comey's son-in-law, he's gotta' recuse.

I'm a judge, and I can think of very few instances where I'd take a one on one meeting with the State/prosecutor. It's possible the meeting was completely coincidental and had nothing to do with the indictment (doubtful) but even if that's true, the appearance of fairness would mandate that I recuse.

That should be a no-brainer.

How come there were multiple Comey family members involved in some of the highest cases involving our government? Like, how does that happen? Son in law here smooching it up with the judge who will oversee his daddy in laws criminal case he was working to get squashed. Then Comey's literal daughter handled the Diddy case and everything somehow mysteriously.

What gives?

If it’s not them, then it’s going to be us. The only question remaining is the timetable

Settle down. Settle down.

As usual, RobbBobb fricked up the facts.

Comey’s son-in-law, Troy Edwards Jr., was in Magistrate Judge Lindsey Vaala's courtroom and met with her, NOT District Court Judge Michael Nachmanoff, the judge for the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia who will handle the Comey case.
