A lot of people have decided elections are "least racist" contests. It's a huge problem. I mean, imagine if instead of Andrew Jackson, we'd elected some mild-mannered Congregationalist preacher or milquetoast New England haberdasher.

I puzzle over this myself.I went Catholic schools 12 years.Surprising number of my classmates are democrats,even the priest that was head chaplain at Catholic hospital I worked at was a Obama,Gore,Kerry,Biden voter.
I’ve asked a few of them what kind of mental gymnastics they do to justify voting for the candidates that represent,everything they are supposed to be against as a practicing Catholic.
They just tend to get pissed off.
Even my sister,devout Catholic whose son is a priest married a Obama,Biden voter,I mostly tried to overlook it and be hospitable because it was her husband.
They came to town a couple a months ago,I got so pissed off when Laken Riley was murdered I emailed my sister they had to find another place to stay.That sob husband of hers was complicit in her murder by his vote,he would never step foot in my house again.
So I guess my sister and I are done.So be it,marriage has consequences as does voting.
