The number one expert in Florida testified years ago that over 30 mph thr helmet offers zero protection which is why they don't have helmet laws
Even if it did actually protect you at speeds over 30mph, your body will be so broken, it would be beyond repair.
I still wear one though. It is were my music is and I do admit, it protects from 1 thing...a june bug to the face.

Was there masking mandates? I ignored em all 100% and never got in any trouble for it.
We also didn't have to get vaxxed at work either.

At that point, is it really, truly the state exercising its own latitude or is it bribery and coercion by Uncle Sam?
Even worse. Uncle takes money from the states and won’t give it back unless they play ball.

Yep. In some states and on planes.

What does the OP even mean?

Most people will back down meekly when challenged or confronted. It’s one of few reasons I respect a certain culture. Many of them are ignorant as hell and go along because of it, but they aren’t doing anything they don’t want to.

Citizens pushing for safety laws don’t really care about your safety (how could they? They don’t know you) and they don’t care about insurance costs either.
They don’t want to feel bad about being scared when other people aren’t scared.

Ah. I didn't fly during that time.

Is there any data to support this?
I don't know.
I doubt it b/c that seems like it would be too dangerous to test in any meaningful way.
Here's what there IS data on: Not wearing a seatbelt makes it much more likely that the driver is ejected from the car, injured more severely, and more likely to lose consciousness in an accident.
quote:
Sounds more like a hunch.
Mmmmm, I'd say it sounds more like an educated guess given the data we do have. Someone who is conscious or still in the vehicle is obviously going to be beter able to control the car than someone who isn't.
And sometimes that's the best we have. For example, most people don't realize that about 80% of the surgical procedures used in hospitals have never been tested in a controlled, blind format. And the more life-saving the surgery is designed to be, the less likely it is that this has occurred.
And the reason is obvious if you think about it. Same reason there's likely not any data on the question at hand. It's unethical to take 50 patients who all need heart surgery and give 25 of them the surgery and only cut the other 25 open and sew them right back up and tell them that they had the surgery.
You can't do that.
So the vast majority of surgeries only have anecdotal data or statistical data to back them up, neither of which is considered very strong by scientific standards.
