Democrats: 1,596,194
% of 2016 Votes: 56.11%

Republicans: 555,805
% of 2016 Votes: 19%

Will both Democrats and Republicans reach 2016 numbers in PA?

Doesn't PA only have early voting in certain counties?

Doesn’t change the fact that the numbers are not results, and they tell us nothing. This is PA’s first go at mail in balloting and there’s nothing to compare these numbers too. Add in the covid uncertainty and these numbers are meaningless. We simply won’t know how these early numbers fit into total turnout until tomorrow evening.

It’s a mistake to read anything into them, one way or another. This year is an outlier because of the mail in/covid situation. Every single presumption about turnout trends need to be thrown out the window

I think he is misinterpreting you saying "results" with actually meaning actual votes for Biden vs Trump and not just party registration of votes cast so far.

Not a chance we know tomorrow evening.

Rest of your post is spot on.

No I know exactly what he means. My point is that viewing the party registration numbers as indicative of anything is a mistake this cycle.

We do not have to have final results to know what the turnout situation was.

We will know tomorrow whether there are huge numbers of new voters, or whether these early vote totals are actually the lions share of the votes overall, reducing the votes cast tomorrow accordingly.

Florida, NH, and Ohio will allow everyone to draw conclusions on how the remaining states will shake out by 930/10 pm eastern time tomorrow. Those states are very likely to have results by early Wednesday morning. It may not be official at any point this week, but it will be apparent tomorrow which candidate has the best chance to win. The states that do report tomorrow will tell everyone whether Trump is over or underperforming his 2016 totals.

They only have early voting in Philly and Pittsburg which are heavy Dem. These numbers mean nothing.

And most of the polls are giving Biden 95-99% of the Democrat vote, even though savior Obama only got 92%
