And I'd bet the Dems win.

It's still an R +11 district, so essentially +22 over the Ds. So it's arguably even more R leaning than the 2016 Presidential election.
My point is that national dems are not the same as certain local dems.
If the dems ran a generic dem, they would have lost this race.
I just don't see how this election is a referendum on trump.
This district is full of old school union guys. That played a big role, imo.

Democrats always steal the close ones like this
Notice how it’s stopped at 95-96%?
That’s when the theft of the close elections happens
Democrats sandbag just enough votes to push themselves over the top in the close ones!
Happens just about every single time
Let’s see how long it takes to get this final 4% counted
Democrats are criminals in stealing the close ones

well yeah,
they ran a center-right dem, or at least one that appeared that way

it looks like saccone will take this. good fight though.

My bet is lamb wins by 300 votes or less

It hasn't had a Democratic representative for 15 years. Romney carried it by 17 points. Why don't tell me more? I realize it's been traditionally blue historically and there are more registered Dems (even though they've voted GOP for years). What am I missing??
Well, considering it’s my old district, I’ll fill you in. Murphy was wildly popular, actually a child psychologist, creepy in retrospect since he was from my township. He was the only rep for all of those 15 or so years; took over for a dem. It was surprising that a republican held the seat for so long. The district is mixed with a mix Pittsburgh suburbs that are are varied on how they lean. There are legacy union areas and and some mixed rural-ish areas.
Saccone; terrible candidate and the right type of Democrat can be very attractive here. For the past 15 years the dems have run extremely liberal candidates against a very popular Murphy; bad mix.
The area when it comes to local politics is fickle. Plus this sounds awful, but Italians don’t play well with voters in this area.

Wrong on the local front. A majority of the elected officials in this district (sheriffs, election supervisors, etc) are democrats.

104,697 (D)
103,779 (R)
208,000 votes reported
Reported to be 96% of all votes
That leaves an extra 4% not reported
210,000 x 0.04 = 8,400 votes
8,400 votes have yet to be reported

About 6,000 absentee ballots have been returned in PA-18 and none have been counted so far.

Yes, smart money would bet Lamb. I wouldn't bet.

I am reading another election forum now and a dude is talking about the history of the district and how it favors a certain brand of dems.
