It's going to be funny watching Trump supporters and this board's reaction when the Kamala, the sleazy hoe, tries to overturn Ron DeSantis's electoral college victory in 2024.
Maybe they'll correctly say that the Vice Presidency is a ceremonial and figurehead position with no power at all?
After they said otherwise in 2020 when Mike Pence acknowledged reality?

Bill Cassidy pledged that he would serve 2 terms in the Senate and I took his impeachment vote as confirmation he's standing by that pledge.
Looking forward to voting for a new Senator that's a rock ribbed conservative.

In reality, in the weeks leading up to the runoff, I was expressing my doubts as to whether Rispone could win it and I did not have confidence that JBE was going to lose.
The way Rispone handled the runoff month greatly dispirited me and the biggest warning sign was that he did not have Ralph Abraham out there stumping for him and doing ad spots. They didn't even appear together outside of Trump rallies.

Was it going to be effective in terms of electoral college votes...no, but with the mathematical “quirks” in terms of tabulating votes in swing states, it would have been profound imho.

Yeah, we all know there was a bunch of fraud. But, there wasn't much Pence could do at that point. The case really hadn't been made. He would have looked like a lunatic acting otherwise.

It never would've gotten that far.
That's what you're not getting here. Senators were never going to allow Pence to do what you're proposing here as they would've removed him the moment he started any chicanery of any kind.
The Vice President does not have the power here, Senators do and Pence acknowledged reality.

I'm just not so sure that process you described there is the way to go about nullifying the VP's role and duties in this specific instance, as laid out very clearly and directly in the 12th Amendment of U.S. Constitution. They just wouldn't be able to pass a quick Senate rule to get around the Constitution.
Had Pence shown up and refused to "open and count the electoral votes" it would've been a much more serious situation than you're probably thinking.
